Thanks again everyone. Dinner was delicious but not very adventurous vis a vis the menu which had some very "interesting" items on it including calves brain and a tripe , sausage and bean casserole. I had escargot with garlic and parsley, frogs legs in a white wine and butter sauce and a Mandarin orange souffle. It was all delicious but the dessert was sublime. Clive had foie gras, duck with a raspberry sauce and the souffle for dessert We had a local sparkling wine as an appertif and a red from the same vineyard with the meal. The wine was lovely. I've made up my mind that I prefer Burgundy, Loire reds and Bordeaux in that order. I had never really experienced Loire wines before, they really are wonderful....not that I'll ever find them at home. We are leaving in a minute for a tour and wine tasting of the winery the wine we had with dinner comes from. All in all a wonderful evening.

Oh thank you all so very much dear friends! Your messages are really heartwarming for me. I also miss being here and do drop by to have a read when I can. Hopefully I may be able to come back again when things are not so busy here at home. Wolf will continue to be bedridden from now on and I will continue to be his caregiver. But I do get out with girlfriends for some dinners and needed respite from home duties. I'm so lucky that my Pilates exercise class is at a tennis club which is just a seven minute walk from our house, and they are now putting on some luncheons and evening events which are close enough for me to attend. I still go to Pilates twice a week and feel it has kept me physically strong, as well as giving me a chance to meet up and chat with classmates, so I'm able to cope. One does need to get away and have contact and support from friends. Today I invited my friend Lynne to a lunch of chicken salad at the tennis club. They have a delicious one made by the new chef....tender greens, small pieces of chicken, and a super balsamic and honey dressing. We sat outside under a white umbrella and it was so nice. We were invited to champagne on the house and then we had a dessert of apple struedel in a cream sauce. (You see I can't get away from talking about food can I!) So I've had a lovely day and now it's been made even better by seeing your thoughtful birthday wishes. Thanks again dear friends. I miss you too and hope to get back with you again when I'm better organized. Bizzo I do hope you make it here for a visit! THANK YOU my KT friends! What a nice surprise to get on here this forenoon & find your well wishes! I did have a lovely day & evening. I 'power shopped' for about 5 hours with gift cards, received phone calls from my 3 kids in WI,PA & NC and got to hear my 7yr old precious grandaughter sing to me! Then last evening a dear friend took me out for dinner and dancing. We must have danced the night away as my feet & body ache all over today...tee hee. Now-if only my 47 yr old brain would catch up to this 67 yr old body!!!!! ((( hugs to all)))

Thanks everyone.........

Spent the day assembling some new deck furniture and swatting away black flies !!!! Thankfully the weather is not threatening here but it has been bad nearby.

Himself treated me to dinner from the local Chinese take out. The menu is an 8/12 X 11 folded in three......dinner for two with an extra egg roll.....gotta love him!!!

Sharon, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! At least himself treated you to dinner. DH is happy to do that, anything as long as he doesn't have to cook! I can't believe it's been almost a year since we were there. Time flies and life throws us unexpected twists and turns! More travel awaits!

Best wishes for many more happy travels and birthdays! Would love to see you!
