I just tried it and it worked fine for me. Some time ago though I had a problem and it was because there was a max of 50 clippings allowed and I had reached my max. I'm not sure how many I have now, as I 'may have' deleted some earlier.

Until you get it clipped, you might just use the "email this post' function. That also worked for me when I tried it just now.

Okay, I didn't realize that there is a limit. Sometimes I just copy and paste into a new document. Clipping is a lot easier, though.

Well, I thought maybe it was your settings here at GW that didn't allow you to get email...I just used the email this post link over to the side to try and email you the post.

I know often it takes quite a while for the emails via GW to come through to my Hotmail...hours....LMK if/when you get it.

After I submitted the message above, I noticed that GW is pointing out the Clippings function. After submitting the message it said "Find out how easy it is to keep track of your posts with My Clippings!" with a big red arrow pointing to the location. Hmmm. I just wish it worked for me!

I just clipped something and didn't have any problems. Can you be more specific as to what happens -- do you get an error message at all? Just a blank page? Also, what computer and browser are you using?

Also, we've recently taken off the limit of 50 clippings, so that should no longer be an issue.

Hi Tamara. When I hover over the link, I get the little hand, but when I click, a message comes up on the bottom left corner of my screen that says Javascript:clip ('edit','10')

The link doesn't take me anywhere at all. Other than the message I just described, nothing happens. The same thing happens when I click on "Email this post" except the message says "email" instead of "edit". However, "See most clipped and recent clippings" does work.

I'm wondering if there might be a problem with Javascript on your computer. I'm wondering what the folks at Computer Help might recommend. hmmm...maybe uninstall/remove it and reinstall it.

I'd try it with IE first and then a stop by the link below. I've not heard of anyone else having problems, so it sounds like it is a pretty isolated case.

I'm going to try the new feature of getting the follow-up replies emailed to me. Let's see...I don't want to 'forget' you.

I've tried loading clippings on FF and had no issues. As Christine and Sue suggested, I would make sure that Javascript is updated and to also try it on a different browser, if that's an option for you.

Hi again. I tried using IE and - - voila! -- the clippings function works. I still strongly prefer Firefox, so I will have to work on figuring out why Clippings isn't working with FF. Yes, it is an updated version. I have no idea how to find out if Javascript is updated.

Okay, I just checked to be sure I have the latest Java updates, and I do. They are set to update automatically.

Still not working. Aaargh.

I'm thinking that not all versions or Javascript are compatible with all versions of Firefox, and/or there are different Java for IE and Firefox. I'm just kind of thinking out loud here.

You might try going Here...How do I test whether Java is working on my computer? and checking it. You might also want to use the link there to remove older Versions, and do a new free download from Firefox.

And if that doesn't work, I imagine folks at Computer Help might have other suggestions, like starting in safe mode or disabling some things to see what might be the problem.

Dedtired, do you by any chance have the YesScript add-on with Firefox? I don't use the clipping function anymore, but I just tested it and had the same problem as you. When I disabled YesScript the clipping function worked.

Does Yes Script show up under plug-ins? I don't have it. I don't see it listed under add-ons either.

Just to explain: when I clicked on email this post, I expected to get an email with what dedtired had posted, so I was surprised when I got the email, clicked on it and came back to the cooking forum.
