Steaming parchment paper

I made a few dozen gluten free perogies and I don't think they will hold up to a boil. I thought I could steam them but am concerned about them sticking to the colander. I then thought I could put a layer of parchment paper down. I figure if it is okay for baking, it should be okay for a steamer?
I will take suggestions on how to cook my perogies. I do plan to fry them in butter at the end though.
