Almond Cookies

I wonder if anyone can help me. I found quite a bit of discussion on here (dating back to 2007!!) about making cookies like those delicious Jules Strooper almond thins. I am looking for something sort of tasting like those, with the same crispiness, but like the "Thinaddictives" (made in Canada) that can occasionally be found in a few stores, but at a price.

The ones I have in mind are almost like zweiback...very crispy, just barely sweet, with dried cranberries and thin sliced whole almonds. More like a crispy dry bread than a cookie. They look like little thin slices of bread. Costco sold them just long enough to get me addicted! :(

A grocery store near me sells half as many for more $$ So I figured I might try to duplicate them. Here is one recipe I found (no cranberries) but it's not quite right. http://butteryum.blogspot.com/2012/04/pains-damande-very-thin-french-almond.html

The part about flipping the cookies halfway through does make sense and I think that's what this company does. Here are the cookies I have in mind, and I'm wondering if anyone of you might have eaten them and have some ideas:http://www.thinaddictives.com/recipes.php

I hate it when stores do that...can anyone help? Thanks!
Jennifer
