Lazyman, Nitron, or Aerify Liquid Aerator: Do any of these work?
Comments (22)wish I hope and prayed to have something I could hear that may help save my back. The only thing that has helped is organic matter tilling it in and adding the soil living organisms. I live in the NE and have a mix of clays. There is the creamy yellow that is on top of BIG ROCK DEPOSITS (size of a small car) with some cracks between chunks. Everything too close to the clay dies until larger chunks of rocks are removed with some clay and water drains. THEN the tilling, organic matter and amendments work. I think the charcoal and neutralizers work their magic and help. At 2018, I have a 1/2 steel pipe cut to a point to do the aeration deeply poking at least a foot down and I do add all the good stuff I can get down and add the gypsum to help keep it down. I does help break the clay into smaller bites with compost I buy by the 10 wheel truck load. I have beautiful soil in my garden and flower beds. I did wish science had made some progress since your notes started 11 years ago. If anyone wants to have a trial with their product on my lawn I will be glad to offer my free space. Sorry I haven't found a magic bullet but I do use Ivory and sudsy ammonia to fertilize and kill the bugs. Love to all the young who are ready to take on the challenge and God bless the soil scientists who are still trying to solve it. My 50+ acres are available and with a little love we can grow a 10 foot beautiful corn stalk or 4'+ hay field. Thanks everyone for your thoughts....See MoreAnt bites
Comments (32)After having been bit by a fire ant on my foot, I cleaned it and alternated between applying hydro-cortisone and topical antibiotic. It still itched constantly and I was very careful to not pop the blister because all these sites say that. But the next week the itching continued and started to spread and the bite had healed over. When my hands started itching, too, I made a doctor's appt. My doctor said that the topical antibiotic pushed the venom into my blood stream and spread it throughout my body. He prescribed me taking benedryl orally for the next five days to get rid of it. After that I have had to pop the blisters and clean them before putting on the antibiotic. They stay red and look infected for a few days, but that's really the inflammation from the venom that went into the surrounding tissue. I also have a theory that once you've been bitten during the season, you are marked as the enemy. They seem to hunt you down for revenge, I found this online because I managed to get bit while moving brush to mow the lawn and for the rest of the afternoon every time I stepped off the mower they seemed to be finding me. I have more then twenty bites and they (~20) are bothering me more 48 hours after the initial biting. The itching has started full force and I was trying to avoid the benedryl capsules because I get sleepy and wanted to try some home remedies. I have already done the washing, spa treatment, hydrogen peroxide, peppermint oil immediately, and hydro cortisone. It worked well for the last two days, I guess the initial effects wore off and the blisters are all up this morning, too....See MoreMy dog is eating it's pooh.............
Comments (22)My dog, a Jack Russell Terrier, was doing the same thing and we tried the Adolf's Meat Tenderizer and she wouldn't eat the food, and also tried other store bought pills and they would work for a couple of months then she would start eating it again. I changed her food to Iams and started feeding her baby carrots everyday, on the request of my vet. This seemed to start working for a bit, she loves the carrots, and they work nice to keep her teeth clean. I did some research and found that adding canned pumpkin and sweet potatoes (can use fresh also) is supposed to make the poop taste bad to them. I asked the vet and he agreed, so we have been doing this for about 3 weeks now and she has stopped eating her poop. She is litter trained, because she is scared of outside and people. Shortly after I got her from a rescue place I found out she was a puppy mill dog. In the mills the dogs keep their young clean as well as their cage. This is something she has been doing her whole life (she just turned 5 in February). It's a hard habit to break and takes work to do so. She now gets her Iams dog food for small dogs, about a cup of baby carrots a day, as well as about 2 tablespoons of pumpkin, sweet potatoes, squash or carrots a day mixed with a little applesauce. This is working great and she seems to be healthier and happier to be getting her "treats" everyday....See MoreBee Sting
Comments (7)My husband is sensitive to bee and wasp stings, and we keep a tube of super Benedryl cream with us when we are working the hives. Yes, you read that right, we have two bee hives manned by my husband who looks like the Michelin Man when he gets stung. That, and some Adolph's Meat Tenderizer applied immediately helps keep the swelling down, as well as the pain....See Morelindac
