Slightly Cloudy Olive Oil

Posted by cookie8 (My Page) on

I usually buy the Bertolli light tasting olive oil - the three litre size. I noticed when I got it out the car and the bottle had more movement that there is a slight cloud to it. I don't think I have ever noticed this with any other bottles I got. Is this somewhat normal? Is it fine to use? The expiration date isn't until December of this year. I go through it pretty quickly as I usually make mayo every ten days or so.

Is the bottle a bit cold. If it is cool it can cloud because bits are starting to solidify. It is supposed to be fine to use.

Another reason for a cloud near the bottom is because it is unfiltered, but I don't think that would apply to Bertolli light.

I bet it is a filtering issue then. I may return when I go back next week. Thanks.

Cookie, I don't think you need to return it. Check out this article.
