Warning! Stay away from my kitchen, i'm cooking again!
Comments (21)Mmmm, all this sounds so good--well, maybe not that pork roast that got this thread started (you go out with your oven on? You have an amazing sense of adventure). I've made Wellington a couple of times and while it turned out fine, I finally decided I don't like to go to all that trouble. So I'll just come to your house and eat yours. I'll bring the cosmos to make sure no one will notice whether it turns out wonderful or merely terrific. I want to know how the standing rib roast turned out, so please post an update. We had a crown roast of pork--mindless preparation: season, put in oven, cook until done--plus garlic-mashed potatoes, and veggies (my fave was the braised red cabbage with apples, yum). The topper was my DIL's pumpkin pies which thankfully she didn't do lo-fat this year. I whipped heavy cream to go with it. Ice cream is nice with pie but there is nothing like freshly whipped cream. I must get back to my ordinary and a lot more abstemious diet, starting soon--but not today. I'm taking my "girls" (daughters, DIL, granddaughters) out for an elegant lunch today. Maybe next week. . . ....See MoreDebugging Memory Dump from BSOD
Comments (4)The problem is a corrupted area of the hard drive. The remedy is to run chkdsk /r If you can't run it within Windows, try Safe Mode. If that doesn't work, run it from the Recovery Console. Any more BSOD's while doing the above and you need to save as much as possible and do a clean install....See MorePeach Cobbler Dump Cake What went wrong?
Comments (23)Minnie, when I make my dump cakes I leave out the butter. Use a cake mix that has NO PUDDING in the mix. Duncan Hines is what I use. I've never made it with peaches, but I make it all the time with pineapple OR mixed fruit. I find that it always works out best by Mix the can of fruit into the cake mix. Pour in to a 9X13 pan and bake ... what ever the box says.. I bake 325 for about an hour. I would think that the smaller the peach bits, the better it would mixl up. I add a can of pineapple to the mix or a can of mixed fruit. I've tried low sugar cherry pie, but it works best when you mix the cake mix with a white soda, pour 3/4 of that into the cake pan, spoon the cherry pie mix over the top and then spoon the remaining cake mix over that and bake. Pour some of the Costco 3 berry mix into a 9 X 13 cake pan. Add a 12 oz can of white pop to cake mix, stir and then pour over top of berries. Bake for an hour or so and makes a great cobbler >> . . . . I bet you could put the peaches on the bottom, then add clear soda to cake mix... (fresca works well) stir and pour over peaches, cook for about an hour or a little less. that sounds good!...See MoreGlenda's peach dump cake
Comments (19)I've made peach dump cake for family get-togethers. It's always well-received, but it's far too sweet for my and my hubby's taste. It's a can of peaches, the cake mix and melted butter and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Just use the amount of butter recommended in the recipe. There are definitely dry patches of cake mix. You don't want the top to be covered in melted butter. It all works out....See MoreVirginia7074
