Happy Birthday! If I recall, Tamara is in the terrible weather area. I hope that doesn't crate a problem for your birthday celebration.

Thank you all, my dear, dear friends. Yesterday we had one of those days here at our house -- no water for 36 hours, Freya sneaking a pizza off the kitchen counter, and the smell of fresh polyurethane pervading the cold, damp house.... On the other hand, I had the loving affection of Tom and my DS Jacob, calls and cards from family, and greetings from all of you. And tonight we're going out to dinner to try celebrate again. Carla, Luanne, Jon, Anita, Lori, Ingrid, Sue, Carolina, Pamela, and Carol -- each one of your messages brought smiles and memories to my mind. I just realized that with the exception of Ingrid, I know each one of you in the Real World (as opposed to online) -- Ingrid, we'll just have to correct that soon. Awwww....this was SO cool. I'm thrilled and touched! This really means a lot -- thank you, everyone! I had a wonderful day. Went out to dinner at Cheeseburger in Paradise with my husband and then to see Young Frankenstein (the musical) -- it was Sooper Dooper! ;) My parents will come over tomorrow for dinner and cake -- that I think will come from Coldstone Creamery. All in all -- a lovely day made even nicer from the best folks on the internet! Tamara (You ARE a sneak, Jess! LOL)

Thanks for the birthday wishes! This is the 5-0 birthday for me and it's just hard for me to believe it! After yesterday though, I'm FEELING it! LOL The house my boys lived in when they were in college is going on the market today so I was over there painting the kitchen cabinets and staging the bathrooms (cleaned them spic-n-span first). Oh my, I have soreness in places I didn't even know I had places! It probably didn't help that I came home and practically guzzled a bottle of wine while in the hot tub! So I guess 49 went out with a bang and 50 is coming in with a whimper. :-)

Hey! Thanks for the birthday wishes! I'm used to cold birthdays, but I have to say that this year is probably the coldest one that I can remember. Today, I was watching the goldfinches at the feeders and noticed their feathers are starting to turn yellow in anticipation of spring and all I could think was...suckers! LOL

Mom was an Australian Cattle Dog mix and dad was a good-time Charlie. ;) We did the doggie dna thing and are awaiting results, so hopefully we'll know something in the next few days. Our guess is some type of spaniel or setter.

I found her on Petfinder in a weak moment. Because, you know....potty training a dog in -15 degree weather is a blast. But, she's learned how to ring the bell and is doing really well. LOVES the snow!

Oh, and her name is Penzey. Yes, after the spices.
