My new favorite gadget for chopped salads...

Posted by cookingrvc (My Page) on

My sister bought me one the other days and it works great. It really did make preparing a chopped salad less tedious and time consuming.

I didn't use it for the celery or carrots, but it made fast work of romaine, olives, and hearts of palm.

Two thumbs up.

I have seen those at Home Hardware. Was going to get them for Christmas but decided against it. Since I am the only salad eater at home, it would be simpler to use just a knife. Easy to clean and don't have to worry about finding more space for another gadget. :-)

I've not seen these before, but out of curiosity, other than serrated edges, what would be the difference between these and regular kitchen shears. Are the blades different in some other way, like maybe spaced farther apart?

The two main differences are the double shears and the scoop. I am a big fan if kitchen shears but they don't 'cut it (couldn't resist) for salads.

These really are a welcome addition to my kitchen tools.
