I was responsible for a few items for a Chinese New Year Super Bowl afternoon.

For dinner I understand a whole fish, head to tail is a must have. So I got a live tilapia from a Korean store, and made a poached fish dish.

It is also traditional to have pot stickers for New Year. So I made pan fried beef pot stickers.

Since it is the year of the Horse (Broncos?), I made smoked pineapple pork spareribs. What?! Pork? Relax. I used a recipe from the Galloping Gourmet. LOL!

I was hoping somebody on the forum had some experience with the TB Pony or other similar rear tine tiller. After looking at a lot of used machines, most have been beaten like the proverbial rented mule. I'm spending too much time and gas in the quest and I'm at the point of biting the bullet and going for a new one I guess. The good thing is mealies are much easier to kill than scale. You just have to be sure to get into all the crooks and curves really well and be persistant. Check them every three days or so for new crawlies. Another thing I've found to work is a bit more unconventional is fly spray for horses, especially Bronco brand in the white bottle. Mealies hate it and will crawl off your plant in no time flat. I've never seen it harm a plant either.

Yes the undercarriage was clear everything looked normal and blades were still in good shape and turned then pushed. I tried the mower again an hour after my post and it mowed fine. Don't know what the problem was but it is running fine now.

dcarch, it appears that it is NOT the year of the Horse for football teams....

Your potstickers made me remember that I still want to try those venison potstickers from Eric Villegas. So, I stopped at the store, not my small independent store, the "real" grocery store in Big Rapids. Not a wonton wrapper in sight. (sigh)

Make your own wrappers. Flour and water, that's it, pinch little balls of dough and roll out. They pleat and pinch so much better than store bought wrappers.

Thanks John. It was lucky that everyone enjoyed the food. The game was lousy. Might as well turn off the TV.

Annie, LOL! I feel sorry for all those who paid big time money to see the game.

John is right, very quick and simple to make your own wrapper. But mine pot stickers were defective. As you can see, none of them stuck to the pot. :-)
