Has anyone taken a class here or know someone who has?
Comments (17)It is always a treat to hear David speak whether on horticultural topics or anything else for that matter. The first time I met Senor Bahia was when he was doing a slide show talk for the Succulent and Bromeliad Society at the Strybing Arboretum. He was showing gorgeous slides of places that he has traveled to that were jammed packed with 'succulent' horticultural treats. I have since heard him speak at various horticultural events sponsored thru the California Hort Society, On the various Hortisexuals tours and events , at the Arboretum and in writing here on The GardenWeb. He is an excellent speaker and when using slides to illustrate a point , they are beautifully composed and in perfect focus. He is considered "The" Horticulturist's Horticulturist. While on the last Hortisexual trip down to L.A., he was the most sought after person in our wild and crazy group for horticultural identification. And that says a lot considering whose who in that group.. ( some of the most knowledgable and talented horticulturists on both the east and west coast ) >>>> ( as a matter of fact Cady, I think you will be speaking with one of the east coast editorial Hortisexuals soon ) ,, good luck ! we'll put a good word for you....See MoreGarden Web Newbie!
Comments (7)Welcome. I think you've found what I consider one of my favorite websites. The wealth of knowledge here is incredible. I am a newbie to gardening in general. I bought my first house 3 1/2 years ago and have the goal of just making the flowerbeds look better. This is the place to come with your problems and to share successes. The people in my neighborhood think I'm nuts, but here I feel right at home. Be sure to add your e-mail address as public to the system. People will see your posts and contact you privately to help. I'm sure there's somebody here who would be more than willing to share some divides....See MoreGardenWeb has joined Houzz

Comments (80)I think Houzz is located just 20 minutes up the Peninsula from me in Palo Alto. If they have their customer service locally, that would be the Pacific Time zone. As for the name thing, almost EVERYONE got that message about their name already being taken. Somehow I think there is some kind of doubling effect that goes on when you register with GW. I was absolutely not going to give up my online name so I wrote to customer service and insisted that I am the real, original, one-and-only Rosefolly, and they gave me back my name. I think the same kind of thing is going on with many GW users. I believe that if it is important to you (it was to me) and if you persist, you can get your name back. Rosefolly...See Morecompumom
