How to get "Joy" back in cooking

My darling husband loved to cook, and did so every day for the last 27 years.

He passed away last week rather suddenly.

I know I can't subsist on a cracker, a piece of cheese and a tangerine dinner forever. But I can't wrap my head around cooking for just me. After spending a week living with him in the ICU, I naturally have a horrid case of some sort of ick so nothing tastes good anyway. I know when coffee tastes so bad I can't drink it, my taste buds are really screwed up.

I have four freezers full of food packed with what we butchered (mostly venison), caught (lots of bass fillets and even a couple of lobsters) and we grew in the garden.

So lack of ingredients is not the issue!

I just can't get motivated to cook...or eat. Looking at his favorite pots and pans doesn't help. Looking through his piles of handwritten recipes really breaks my heart. Anybody else ever gone through this?

Thanks for any tips you can pass along. I know I need to "get over it" but...I don't know how to start :-(
