Changing the type of pan a cake calls for

So I have this recipe for a flourless chocolate orange cake (a Nigella Lawson recipe), and it calls for an 8 inch spring form pan. Well, I just bought my first spring form pan a few weeks ago, and it's a 10 inch one. (I simply can't keep buying different size pans for recipes I make very rarely--small kitchen too.)

Could I make it in a regular 8 inch cake pan if I used parchment paper on the bottom (and maybe tried to line it too? Frankly, I don't care if I cant remove the whole cake from the pan; I could cut it and serve it from the pan. I'm not the fancy type.
