Need New Orleans-style appetizer

I need to take an appetizer to a dinner party for 8 people. The menu is based on food in the New Orleans manner -- crab soup and jambalaya. I'd like the appetizer to be finger food, something that's fine at room temperature. I pulled up a menu for Emeril's Restaurant and noticed rosemary biscuits with shrimp pate. I could make them small. What about tiny crab cakes? Or mini pork meatballs? I've never visited there, so I'm in the dark. Any ideas, links, recipes or pointers?
