I don't know how long it's been since I've posted pics of the kids, but after Linda's loud complaints on the birthday cake thread ;) here are some new ones. (try not to notice all the crap in the background, like the numerous pairs of shoes everywhere!) These are at Halloween - David was a doctor, and Sarah was an OSU cheerleader. Gimme an O - H - I - O! LOL

I told him to pretend like he was patting the tree, "to hug it" which sounded funny and of course produced less than stellar results when he took it literally. But I think he did a pretty good job overall!

Oh, they are absolutely adorable. Geesh, you can sure tell that they are brother snd sister. What beautiful children! They grow up fast, huh?

That is very unique. I really like it. That is really cool that your wives parents have the same bird bath. I was a senior in 1979 too. And 20 dollars was a lot of money! Well the bird bath was well worth it and it has given you many years of enjoyment! Its in the perfect setting(-: Thanks for sharing the picture.

Thanks Denny, I appreciate the address. This started as a simple question and has gotten more interesting. I'm not the gardener in the family, but the aquatic plants seem to be my responsibility now that I started some lilies last year. I expect to enjoy this role and maybe even to create a pleasant addition to our pond, should it ever thaw! I will post some pictures later in the summer if all works out. Carol - 15 fish no doubt help fertilize, as you know. We only have two fairly large comet-types in around 1500 gallons, so I doubt they will contribute much other than being nuisances around the plants perhaps. I planted the lilies first time last summer, had them in oil change pans, great soil material with compacted pea gravel on top of the soil. Couldn't believe how much gravel they moved off the pots and onto the pond bottom. Didn't add silt to the water or harm the lilies tho. I gather your fish leave the plants alone? Good news to hear your hostas did well in moving water as I have plenty of that. Thanks for the tips. Mike

LOL! Smoked piggy with a cigar! Very good looking smoked/roasted pig. Oak is my favorite wood for pork. After the feast, there are more good eating ahead. The two aluminum trays of the most delicious juice and fat and what can be better than stock made from smoked pork bones? They are both just absolutely beautiful, Phyllis, but they've gotten so big. sigh. Will David be starting kindergarten next year, or will it be another year (hoping, hoping it's another year, LOL).

Elery's son Chris is a big Ohio State fan, he's going to have to see that first picture!

David will wait another year before starting school. His birthday is one week before the cut off (here in New York it's December 1, for some strange reason) so we're waiting. Academically he could probably get along just fine but maturity wise I think he needs time. How about Makayla, Annie?

That's a lovely photo you've taken of David. Doesn't he have your eyes? I remember seeing your wedding photo (that was a long time ago that we posted our wedding pics wasn't it) and David reminds me of you, as I remember seeing you in that photo.

Oh Phyllis, thank you for posting some new photos. Hard to believe that David is already four. And Sarah, what a little doll.

There are a lot of tree huggers out here. David would fit right in.

Phyllis, Makayla says she is going to "high school" next year. I asked about Kindergarten and she said she was too smart for that, she was going right to high school. Ahem.

I did point out that there were no playgrounds at high school, so now she's reconsidering Kindergarten. LOL
