Trick or Treat with Scooby Doo and the frog.

Of course I took costume pictures. Sheesh, what kind of UmmMa do you think I am, anyway? LOL

Some little trick or treaters showed up at my door. Amanda took on the candy distribution chores while I took pictures of ScoobyDoo and the BudKaiser Frog.

And, for good measure (remember, no one actually SAW this in person except Ashley, LOL), here's my costume:

OK, as barnmom said, it has a certain "tawdry appeal". Actually, it was a bet with Ashley who did not believe I could wear HER costume from last year's Beauty and the Beast. However, I bought the costume and knew it was "one size fits all". (snicker) She had to scrub the bathroom because she lost the bet.

Maybe I should, Gina. One of the deputies today told me that if I put my picture on the internet I could "stretch" it until I looked really tall and thin and then I'd look good enough to get a date. Ahem. Even though he was armed, he ran right after that.

Oh Marda, Mary Janes were my favorite! We did seem to get a lot of them. Smiles. They aren't nougat though, they're molasses taffy with a smidge of peanut butter in them. The funny thing is that little bit of peanut butter seems to be really good, not overprocessed peanut butter. More like just a nice half ground up peanut. Good stuff. I liked them so much that when I became an adult I started making molasses taffy. Haven't made it in quite a few years, but I'm really hankering for some now. We still find Mary Janes around occasionally. We did have one house, the rich house, smiles, that gave out regular size Milky Ways or... a nickel. I don't like Milky Ways so I opted for the nickel. Sweet people and how nice to offer an option. LOL Anneliese, tis true.

Thanks, April! I sew for fun, and also make quilts...but I never use a pattern. Can't read the things! Which is why I don't crochet much. I'm pretty good at knitting a simple afghan, though! :O) (meaning: if you like a single color, boring stitch!) lol Selling on Ebay is OK, but I've found it's only worth it with bigger ticket items, like over $10. Because there are list fees, ending value fees, and paypal fees too....so unless you charge an extra $2-3 on top of regular shipping charges (which most sellers do, it costs around $7 to ship a SHIRT! Geeze!). Anyway, I don't Ebay much anymore, only with things I KNOW will sell fairly well, because it just takes too much time...and it's not worth it in the end, to me. But I hope you make a good go of it, if you decide to try! Wishing you lots of luck!! :O) I forgot to show ya'll Aubeni's "cupcake". OhMyGoodness, I don't know WHAT I was thinking when I got this for her! (well, OK...it's pretty. That's what I was thinking!) :O) It's an 8" round Rose, chocolate cupcake in the middle (about the size of a mini muffin!!) and the rest is sugar icing. Big DUH here....I let her eat it for breakfast this morning!!!! I'm gonna be peeling her off the ceiling in about 30 minutes. (countdown begins....NOW......) LOL

Here's nature at it's best Alaskan style. Bald eagle...beautiful noble bird of prey, perches on the top of a huge old fir tree just a little ways outside of our bedroom window. The first year I was here I thought "oh my goodness how wonderful". Then we have the loons. Loons mate for life so we have the same pair return to us annually (cooincidentially the same weekend as my neighbors but they claim not to be related). These aren't common loons that make that beautiful "Beyond golden pond" song noise...these are elegant and beautiful Arctic Loons, who's romantic song sounds like two tom cats fighting over a female. And our loons are big lovers so we hear this cacophany of love at full volume every single night until they produce an egg, then a chick. Baby Arctic Loons are somewhat rare and definately so in the city, and a treat to behold. They next right next to our house (the "loon cam" is normally mounted in our yard by the wildlife freaks...with our permission...we like some freaks). Anyhoo, every year we get to see the baby hatch and we protect it from canoers who get too close and every single freaking that dang Eagle sweeps down within the first week of the poor chicks life and carrys it away screaming to it's death (yes literally screaming to it's death). I hate that dang eagle... Umm what were we talking about? heh heh

well last year we got one or 2, I always see this one cute little boy that lives up the street he comes by every year and he came again this year he was dressed up in a black cape and had glow in the dark paint on his face like a skeleton very cute it actually scared me when I opened the door. On a sad note his father passed away suddenly in his sleep a few months ago and the man was only in his 40's. Mom was with him last night and was also in costume. She is always so sweet. This year we had 5 groups so quite a bit more for us, probably 8 in all. One little girl dressed as a princess was oh so cute she wanted to come in and play with my little dog, I had her all dressed up in her princess dress too LOL. We had them till around 9pm they started I think about 7pm which is pretty normal here.

Yeah, I went trick or treating all right, and I won't tell you whose step I ended up on. LOL It will suffice to say that he wasn't home. Poor sap, he doesn't even know what he missed...

Ah Annie, what lovely eyes Makayla has. She reminds me of one of Dick's gd's who gets silly grins, but in repose is a knockout. She's about the same age 3+ ? yes?

And may the step you end up on next year have an open door and a warm bed etal... I do not mean your house. ;-)
