Youngest DD & SIL invited us over for dinner tonight-- family celebration for GSJohnny's 6th Birthday-- he's growing up so fast but still looks small beside his older brothers Devin & Corey . That's the other Grandmother -- Ann looking on with Doc.

You've got some mighty good looking genes running around in your family. Ooo-wee!

I'm confused. That pretty young woman cannot not possibly be the parent of Devin and Corey. Right??

That's what she keeps saying -- but yes-- Deb's my youngest-- 37-- Corey is 18 , Devin 16 .

Thank you everybody for the wonderful comments! I feel for all of you that are having snow and ice. Please be careful it has been nice in WI. We are getting up to the high 20's so I think I will try to get out and get some sun and play in the snow for a while..LOL Build a snowman I try to make at least one a year...LOL Brandy those are tiger lillies they grow wild here. But they can be bought. I think they need deep cold in order to bloom. My ma in Ca loves lillies and cant grow them not enough cold for them. I could be wrong of course in your area. I gave the bulbils away as soon as they ripen. I think they have to be sown right away. It takes 4 years to bloom from the bulbils. I will be breaking that clump up this fall for trading bulbs.....Bulbs bloom right away if they are the right size.... :)

The stone wall is a 'work in progress' as I would like it to be a bit higher. We had a barn that was taken down so used alot of stone from that to build the wall ( hubby, myself along with my son and our John Deere tractor, did all the work). I have another stacked stone wall which is stone taken from a pile we had when they dug the foundation for the house. Everytime we find some nice pieces, we add to the walls. We have the area where all the beds are with temporary fencing. I use milorganite to keep the deer away. The only ones who seem to have broken through the temporary fencing are the fawns but they haven't touched any of the plants. We have alot of fields so the deer mainly stay out there. We rely on the weather to water the gardens. We are on well water here so don't want to drain our resource. I also use a rain barrel for any new plantings to keep them watered during their first year. After that, they are on their own. Heavy downpours here already this morning. Suppose to rain most of today and through the weekend. DARN. I wish I could send some to others. Julia

sameboat..wow I'm so greatful for your kind words..Thank you. luvs.. he's loved crafts, ever since he was a little guy, and with creativity on both sides of the family, also has a natural talent for drawing. minnie...I know what you mean about the weaving, and was impressed that he picked up the technique very quickly. barb...I think 'he' made great memories for me too!! They grow up so fast, and then - on to other things. cheri..thanks I will let him know...isn't it great fun to work w/your grandkids..seems you always can make the time for them to do it. Funny,for the longest time, he's been wanting to make those reindeers logs...Now, I've got to show him what you made w/the angels...He'll be real impressed!! craftylady...I will pass on the 'WOW' to him..and I'm sure he will be somewhat embarrassed that I put them on here..LOL I taught Arts & Crafts for 22 yrs..to kids from 3 - 12 yrs. Those were the happiest times working with young children, and enjoying their creativity as well..

Good looking family Diane! And wow....that's hard to believe that Deb is the mother of those handsome boys.
She looks like she could be their girlfriend, not their mother.

One of my cousins has a wife who also looks perpetually young and could easily be confused as a girlfriend of her 21 yr old son.

Johnny is a lucky boy to have two big brothers to watch over him. I bet he just loves turning six....did he start school - grade one - last month?

Goooooooooood lookin' boys! And your daughter does not really look old enough to have mothered them, lol. My oldest is 37. I often wonder where the years went. I remember 37. How did she get there so fast?
Enjoy the precious time you get with your beautiful family, cause it certainly does go fast!
