My last grandbabies...I just love them so much

Here is Arianna on her 2nd birthday. The grandma that got her princess stuff was a genius! (Wasn't me)

And here is my littlest, Tristin. I am going to caption this picture: "Wait until they see what is in my diaper". That would explain that little grin.

Oh Sherry, they are darling. What little sweethearts. Hmm, Tristin is a typical male -- finds great humor in bodily functions. Arianna is a perfect princess.

I love Tristin's outfit.

Darn, I wish my sons would find nice girls, get married and give me some grandchildren!

Tristan? Well, he's a boy, that's for sure. They all seem to be ever so cheerful when they are doing something that we'll have to clean up! He's still so darned cute that you can't help but grin, can you?

Good for future reference....I planted one in May. It seems to be doing OK. I may eventually get enough apples to have to worry about keeping them, but most of my 15 or so trees are still just one, two or three years old. I have a few more to add before I'm done. I hope to make cider at some time in the future, so some of my varieties were selected for that purpose. As I recall, Arkansas Black is supposed to be OK for that, but I actually planted it because my wife told me to. I am well trained, I am. Chuck

You know the old saying Charlie, mother is the necessity of invention. I first did it with a bunch of hosta seedlings I wanted in the ground and out of their pots. Since we use the pvc for the daylily seedling patch we had a bunch of pvc around so I swiped that, cut it off, and made the temporary labels. From there, it was the marker of choice for a seedling in the display area. To show how lazy and cheap I am, you can use the pipe twice. When I eliminate something, I turn the pipe and write with the Painters Pen in the area previously written with pencil and vice versa. Brooke

Orientals are the least hardy of the main lily varieties. They like an acid soil and because of their late bloom they sometimes don't have time for the foliage to ripen and feed the bulbs before frost, so the bulbs tend to diminish rather than replenish. That said, my Stargazers have been hanging around for about 10 years now but I usually only get 2 or 3 blooms per stem. Casa Blanca does somewhat better for me, probably because it blooms earlier. Beautiful as the blooms are on the orientals I no longer buy any orientals. I can plant something like Scheherazade and have 40 or more gorgeous blooms on a stem. For me it's a no-brainer.

divamum, it was crazy fast, once it finally got rolling! I sat with a big empty box of a room for about three weeks waiting for the cabinet guy. But once he started installing, that meant Joshua could come put in my soapstone, and everything else just fell into place very quickly. I went from NOTHING to almost everything in literally 48 hours. I think that, by the end of this week, I'll be done with everything in the kitchen, except of course the backsplash! :) malhgold, the range is an Aga Legacy--and the gas is finally turned on!! Woohooo!! Wouldn't you know it, though, I have to teach tonight and then I'm going out of town for two days, so I won't be able to actually cook on it until Friday. Ugh!! fern4, the wood is cherry in a natural finish. Thanks so much for the McIntyre link. There are some beautiful options there. I will have to spend some time perusing! plllog, one of my first choices was a pale green glass tile with a little cobalt glass thrown in for accent pieces. I may have to revisit that. If I can find the pics again, I'll post them. I'm loving these suggestions. Sometimes my head gets stuck on one thing and, even though I know it's not what I want, I can't move past it. This is really helping me think outside my self-imposed box.

I know how excited my little granddaughter was when she received a fairy crown and magic wand. She's so cute in those earrings too.

I hope Tristan will soon be better and no longer suffering pain. He's such an adorable little baby.
