Here's some pics from our recent vacation. I wish I had taken my camera on my outing with Jessica and the LA Connection, but forgot it.

Here's one of Aleksi at the beach at Santa Monica Pier before the sand castles.

We celebrated Aleksi and her Papa's birthdays a little early (the 25th and 19th, respectively), but they had a blast doing it. The birthday celebrations started at Disneyland with alot of special attention that Aleksi just loved (and Papa too for that matter) and even the flight attendant while talking to Aleksi found out we were celebrating birthdays had the entire plane sing happy birthday on the last leg of our flight. Too fun!

Pretty self-explanatory here. At Mickey's House in DL.

Dancing with the High School Muscial Pep Rally was a real highlight for Aleksi.

awwwwww. I forget how amazing and special DL can be for little kids - I keep thinking 'commerical, commercial, commercial' and then I get reminded of the magic when I see moments like these! I was there a couple of weeks ago as a chaperone for the 8th grade graduation trip. A bunch of us moms decided to unabashadly oggle the 'Jack Sparrow' cast members and not be too shy about it, amongst ourselves, that is. Really!

I never did get to DL although my brother and sister went when they were small. I can imagine how excited Aleksi was to go there and see Cinderella and Snow White. I know my grandkids just loved their trip there.

Aleksi is a lovely little girl Brenda. I'm sure you all had a wonderful time!
Thanks for posting your photos. Too bad you didn't take your camera to the LA meeting.

Hey Brenda! Looks like the little princess had a wonderful time. I'm so glad. Check your email!

Shouldn't every little girl be a princess? Aleksi looks like she had a wonderful time, I especially liked that first picture on the beach, though.

happy birthday to Aleksi and to PaPa.

Jessica, how did you have time to ogle the guys, you were too busy calling people so they could hear the music to "It's a Small World". LOLOL

I've promised Makayla I'd take her and Bruvver to Disney World when Bruvver is five. She asked her Dad and he said it was "too far", so she appealed to the higher authority, her UmmMa. I have three years to get my courage up....

I love Disneyland for kids over 5. Our DD & DSIL have a season's pass to take Jayden for a few hours when the want to. He loves it. Some rides are too dark and scary for younger kids, but now with the meals and opportunities to meet with the characters it makes it all the more special. Annie, I think you'll love it through the eyes of Makayla and Bud.

Diana- Alexsi is adorable and I'm so glad you had a good time!! What else did you manage to see on your day around L.A.?

Looks like she had a wonderful time. My grandkids liked the ocean as much as DL. But they are both pretty special places.

Ellen, we didn't manage to see much on Friday, we sat in traffic for 6 hours. We drove to Grauman's and they were getting ready for the Daytime Emmys that afternoon and the traffic was just awful. We got out of that area as soon as we could and made no other stops, so I was disappointed we didn't get to American Girl, but I was still a little ticked about the $$$$ ticket for the HOV lane. We did go to Santa Monica Pier and Aleksi loved the beach.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. Annie, you will love taking the GK's to Disneyland or Disney World. It is just a magical time for them. I'm glad Makayla has her court to appeal to...lol...so does, Aleksi and it is PaPa.

Now, Jessy, you make me wish I'd seen the Pirates of the Carribean, had I only known, that would have certainly been on the top of the list!

Thanks for your kind comments for this grandman and her GK.

Happy Birthday to the pretty Aleksi and Papa too! Looks like it was a wonderful time and boy, she is a beauty.

Oh Brenda I'm bummed about the ticket. I'm sorry you got a taste of our freeways. Its getting very bad to travel here and I recommend to visitors that they stay in one general area for the day, transitioning to the next spot after dinner when traffic dies down.

Pirates may have been too scary for Aleksi; its a dark ride with two drops. I saw 'Jack Sparrow' while on chaperone duty - about four moms sitting around a table in the main plaza for a couple of hours, watching the crowds and characters go by. Disneyland is HUGE, and you can't cover it AND California Adventures in one day, especially if its a weekend. Sounds like you hit the stuff that was important for Aleksi!

Brenda, that looks like a magical time! Disney is really something special, isn't it - so is Aleksi.

So glad you enjoyed your trip!

Awwww, Woodie, what a kind thing to say about Aleksi!

Janet, yes Disneyland was something very special. Little girls are very special aren't they, and Chance is right there on top of the list too! Is she having a fun summer?
