Finally, I took my top off! (Oh, what a sunburn)

OK, after all those jokes I had to share this day with all my friends here. For the very first time ever, I took the top off the Jeep. Actually, David took it off, I was at the house and he said "that's gotta go". Of course, it's a removable hardtop, I don't have a soft top for it, so it's still sitting on David's lawn, I drove home without it, grinning like an idiot. Ashley was in the passenger seat, waving at people as we went by. LOL

The sunburn? Oh, that's from planting the garden today for 6 hours, but it went well with the topless theme. LOL

After I got home Ashley begged, pleaded, promised me undying devotion and help with the housework.

Finally, I let her "borrow" the Jeep. That was three hours ago and she's not back yet. LOL

Have I mentioned that I just love my Jeep? (grin)

Annie the pictures are soo cute..

In 1986 I bought a small white volks cabriolet..I stll have it..We have kept it all these yrs..The girls learned to drive with it..It's in nice shape also..and when our daughter married in 2002..It was even more spit polished and shined and decked out in beautiful white bows.. for the Bridal car:)
I still smile like an idiot after all the yrs the first few times I take it out..or on those perfect flea market days when even if the car trunk is tiny.. an open roof means endless possibilities:)

sidhartha0209: I just cut a three sided hole approximately 4" x 4" just under the peak in the front. Then I put 1.5" packing take around the edge of the flap so I can close it when necessary. The tape will get messed up after a while but I will just peel it off and replace it. There could obviously be a more sexy solution to clear packing tape but I just wanted to get it done at the time. I really don't understand why they don't have a zippered flap built in. Even if it costs an extra dollar or two, it would be well worth it. My greenhouse was only $15 when I bought it but I have seen them anywhere from $20 to $35 lately. The same green house in the same store is now $35. I got mine a couple months ago. Very well spent $15 as it allows me to keep my plants outside and get a good start on hardening off. With no sun for the past three days and temps under 40 degrees, I can just let the thermostatically controlled heater keep it in the low 60's while I keep the whole thing zipped up. Thanks Lisa!! First thing I did this morning when I got up was to go to the window to see if they were at the box and they were! They were there for about an hour and a half when I had to take dd to school. They weren't there when I got back but showed back up again around 9:30, now I haven't seen them since. They had both been going in the box, once I saw them both go in the box together too which I figured was a good sign. I am not freaking out yet that they went somewhere else, well yes I am but I am not admitting it. LOL! I recall last year when we got a pair of Blues in mid June that they took forever to get settled. Last year I saw them on a Monday and then the female was MIA for the next five days however the male stayed around singing his heart out. Then the female showed back up and two days later started building a nest. So I am hoping they have chosen this box and right now are just relaxing a bit until they are ready to get down to business again. DOnna

I almost posted a few weeks ago, "what dumb thing did you do today?". I had a years worth of oddities in one day trying to multi-task. Fortunately i checked all pockets before doing laundry...2 dozen cherry tomatoes, half a chocolate bar, tape, scissors....one milk dud, lol. Always loosing coffee cups... I think one of the worst was leaving for a long weekend and DH left the front door open. A few birds moved in and shat everywhere. We now double check and again when we leave even for work. Think, check, and check again. (i printed out a check list by the downstairs exit door) Add to daily life a medical issue and i do understand how difficult that would be. When we are stressed from work and not so young anymore, we just slow down and use our cell phone timers...

Bone spurs on your heel are not bone, but are hard calcium and mineral deposits. These don't belong there, but form anyway. Its not uncommon - a significant portion of the population is affected. These can increase or decrease in size depening on many health factors. The achillies tendon is the usual tendom affected by heel spurs. This tendon is attached on the underside of your foot somewhere aft of the ball of hte foot, goes toward the heel and fans out into a flat ribbon shape, wraps around the heel bone, and then continues up the back of you ankle region and fastens to a large muscle in the calf of your leg. A heel spur may or may not irritate this tendon, but when it does, it is painful. The spur may penetrate or injure the tendon and the recuperation time is long. Hopefully, measures can be taken to re-absorb the spur. However, a lengthy time is required for the tendon to repair. When I had a heel spur injury to the tendon, my doctor advised against surgery and said it was best if the injury could be healed without surgery, because surgery in this area requires the same healing time and care as a broken bone and there is always the risk of infection or other complications, the same as other major surgeries. If it heals itself, the end result is as good as that of surgery.

My elder daughter has always loved jeeps too and has been driving her little softtop red Suzuki for years now !

Monique, hang onto that Cabriolet. I had an MG Midget a million years ago in another life and I still miss it. And yes, you can sure stack stuff up when the top is off. (grin)

Jessica, Dad can't get into the Jeep. They haven't gotten his prosthesis right YET, and he can't step up, it sits just a bit too high for him. I offered him a stepstool and he offered to hit me with a crutch.

Riverrat, it isn't drafty at all in the winter, although I do get some wind noise because of the canvas removable windows. It has a heater that will drive me right out of it too, even in our Michigan winters.

Woodie, I'm never gonna grow up. Never. Remember, you're only young once but you can be immature forever!!

Sharon, some people are just Jeep kind of people. LOL Isn't that right, Carol. Of course, one of these days I'm just going to get into that Jeep and drive to New York, then you'll be sorry....

Nancy, she got home at 12:58, two minutes before curfew. LOL And today she did some laundry, now I'm working on the undying devotion.

I drove it today, down along the river and watched the skiers and boaters, toured the Amish community and generally just burned up some gas. Now that sunburn is really and truthfully a sunburn, but it was worth it!

I bet there were a bunch of wavebacks with that knockout waving! The driver isn't chicken liver herself tho... is she CFers!?!? Looks like the 'chicks' both had a great time, and a wonderful memory to keep.

Maureen, I've actually heard of sunblock, although I've never actually used it. With my Native American background I seldom burn. I'll have to remember that the sun and the wind together is a double dose.....
