I canÂt come up with any names for the future porterhouses right now but when I saw the pictures all that came to mind is how lucky Elery is. He not only gets you he gets to play tractor like every little boy dreams of.

DH and my dad once bought a tractor with the story they could clean up the acreage we own. After several day of just fooling around with it I finally got DH to admit that he didnÂt really need it he just always wanted to play with one. Big boys and their toys kinda thing.

At least Elery is getting some work done while he is having fun. You are perfect for each other. Have a great wedding this weekend. I know you will have the happily ever after part.

Hamilton Burger ? LOLOLOL! I don't think I would be good at naming beef and to be honest I guess if they were mine I would become a vegetarian and keep them as pets. :-) Beautiful calves they are.

How exciting that your wedding is in 4 days too....I bet you're getting butterflies now.

I wanna visit your farm one day, I think I'd fall in love with your animals. For real. Those little cows are adorable.

Shaun, come and visit any time. I would suggest May through October, it starts to get cold and snowy about November and we still have snow storms in April. A Florida girl could freeze. Of course, that big black horse is snuggly and warm, so you could just stand next to him and suck up the body heat. (grin)

Sharon, I really like the calves and cows. I always have to remind myself that they are food, and just make pets out of the breeding stock, like Suzy. Now that's an animal that will mug you for a carrot. I tried to give the horses a treat last weekend and she ran to get into my pocket before they could. LOL

Claudia, Elery likes to play with the tractors, that's for sure. It would be more fun for him if Dad would stop giving him constant and expert "instruction". (grin)

And no, not a single butterfly. Isn't that odd.....

I love it when the calving begins. It's so cool to see them out in the fields with their mama's. Don't miss worrying about the delivery around here anymore though. My last experience had my arms all the way up into the mama with a breech baby just 2 weeks after I birthed my son via c-section. And then there was the one that dropped out but the sack didn't break so guess who had to take care of that job too? But yet it was just as awesome helping those calves as it was delivering my own son. For some reason I was lucky enough to see every calf that we had here being born. Talk about timing. As for names there's always "Sir Loin" and "Mr.T" (bone).

Berger, Houseman, and deBone, Esqs.

Sounds like a good name for a law firm! You could call them Berger, Porter, and T-bone for nicknames.

Oh Annie, aren't they sweet! The one with the spotted head looks a bit like my dog Lady, a dalmatian, so what about calling him "Cow-Matian"? The other one looks like a masked bandit, I've got to think about his name.

And Cope looks just beautiful, he is so fine looking and you can tell him I said so. It seems like he finally rubbed off the last of his winter coat?

Mr. Annie 1992 is looking very at home on the farm. He sure looks nice sitting on that John Deere. Didn't know farm equipment could be sexy, did ya???

Parking my own pic on your thread. Here's Amon with the cows at my DF's place, for the first time. It's the best picture I got--we were wrangling several grandkids at once and no one had a spare hand for the camera.

My dad had several calves when we visited in March and I always love how cute they are! He's got a cow and calf operation, so we don't name any of them. One year my stepsister named our food steer Buzzardhead, so we couldn't help but picture him at the dinner table. That was less cool.

Elery does look good on the tractor. I'm so glad you don't have to do all of it all the time--I know you can, but still, it's not always fun. Hooray for the new willing farmhand!
