Bud meets the Easter Bunny

I haven't posted pictures of Bud lately and he's getting so big. I took lots of pictures when the kids came for Easter Dinner on Friday.

He was so excited to be here that he tried to wiggle right out of his carrier:

As you can see, he really enjoyed meeting our own personal "Easter Bunny":

After he took all the things out of his Easter Basket, it looked like a good place to be:

Makayla had a good time at UmmMa's house too. First she bounced on the trampoline with Mom:

Then she went for a ride on Ashley's "horse" swing:

She really enjoyed her chocolate bunny:

The WonderWeiner stood guard and kept everyone safe:

Finally, the kids wore out, Makayla snuggled with a blanket and Bud slept on his Mom:

Finally, about 9 p.m., Makayla announced: "Daddy, I'm tired. Take me home. UmmMa will carry me to the car." She was right, as usual.

They are all beautiful! and it looks like it was a perfect day, UmmMa! I love the one of Bud and the bunny, great picture! and Makayla and the blanket and Bud and Mommy! Thanks for sharing, Annie! Fun pictures!

I started out with three bunnies that we 'thought' were all female. I also have 18 chickens. We put them all in the chicken coop which has a large indoor and large outdoor area. The outdoor area is also covered on top with chicken wire. The bottom edges has the wire going under ground for a little ways inside the area. Our bunnies did mate, 'as one turned out to be female' and they all dug tunnels under the doorway of the indoor part of the coop, 'The hen house'. The tunnels lead all the way to the other side of our hen house and out into the open. We live way back in the woods in the country in northern Michigan. Our bunnies only go all the way out occasionally but mainly stay inside the caged area. They have a good 10 by 14 feet to run in the outside part and seem to feel safe there. One time a wild rabbit did make it through the tunnel to the inside and I'm sorry to say, my male rabbits killed him. Nothing else has ever come through the tunnel to the inside. My rabbits run up to me when I enter to feed them and the female stands up on her back legs looking up at me. It's so cute how they greet me when I enter the area. I realize they might not make it long with the tunnel there in case they go out and something gets to them. But the life they do have now is worth every second since they're so happy. I also will not have them neutered or spayed as I want them to live as wild rabbits would live, as I believe they should have the chance to live, breed, roam, etc. My chickens don't even seem to care that they're there and sometimes my rabbits will share the indoor area with my chickens at night as I leave their door cracked open a little for air. 'The chick coop door is open to the outside caged area'. All my animals are very happy and healthy. In face, my chickens are laying more eggs now that it's winter and everything I've read said they would slow down. They all get the right foods and plenty of treats. When my grandchildren visit, I sometimes let them go in a pet and play with the chickens and rabbits so they're used to people. They DON'T pick up the rabbits though mainly because sometimes children don't pick up animals in a correct way and I don't want them hurt. So far, all is well and I will most likely find homes that also allow some amount of free range for the baby rabbits which should be ready any time now to go. Marie, I'm super glad you liked everything. Tried to pick a few things off your list that you really wanted. I fell in love with those earrings! Some of that candy IS FOR YOUR DAUGHTER...PUT AWAY THE 2ND BOX OF MALTED MILK EGGS AND NO ONE WILL GET HURT! LOL I hope the Ramapo does well for you.

Sandi, one of the things I like about Wilmington is there are $1 stores all over the place! There's one about a mile from where my son lives and they always have the neatest stuff. It's right by Carolina Bar-b-q, if you know where that's at. Between the dollar store and the little thrift srore(a couple blocks from the $1 store!), I completely re-did my GD's bedroom! Went for the Paris theme so used pink, white, and black~she loved it! I remember they were working on leveling the ground for the SUPER Walmart when I was visiting last time. Guess there's supposed to be quite a lot of shopping in that center. Bet you're excited! Did you ever go to Thrill of the Hunt? ;o) patty_cakes

GREAT pictures! Bud is looking like a little boy, not so much a baby. Wow, he's really growing. Makayla is just a doll. She doesn't have UmmMa wrapped around her little finger, does she? :-) (Looks like you had a nice, warm day too.)

And I was also going to say that Bud is looking very much a little boy. Nothing girlish about his appearance.
I bet both he and Makayla were so pleased to have a real Easter Bunny sitting right there on the floor with them.
Isn't life great when you're a grandm....ooops I mean an UmmMa !

Great pics Annie, thanks for sharing. Those are two great looking and obviously very happy babies. Mom and Dad are doing a great job.

PS: That reminds me...do we have a big day coming up? Should I be watching for the invitation?

Sharon, don't hold your breath. Amanda and David were planning to get married this summer. David's sister surprised her mother with the announcement that SHE was getting married, the wedding date is May 20. David's mother says she just can't "cope" with two weddings in one summer. Then Bruce's mother announced that she wasn't coming back to Michigan twice, if she came for Ashley's graduation she wouldn't be back for a wedding. Amanda and David both said "never mind", they don't really care whether they get married or not.

Of course, with Ashley graduating from High school in May, taking a trip to Costa Rica in July and starting college in August, I've kind of got a full summer too, but I don't think I would have made any announcements to the kids about not being able to "cope". LOL

Maybe next year. (shrug) They seem perfectly happy to go on as they are doing now, so I guess it doesn't really matter to me either.

David's Grandparents? Oh, now they're unhappy....

Harper, Bud's real name is David Adam. Because his father is also David, it's gets too confusing. I dislike "Baby Dave", which is what David's mother calls him.

So I call him "Bud". BudKaiser, almost like the beer. (grin) Amanda does not think I'm funny, but Bud has stuck and so Bud he is.

How sweet it is.
I really enjoyed Buddy's reaction to the "Easter Bunny." I'll bet that bunny felt like a rock star with the wee ones. Heh. That picture is a definite keeper.

I also loved the sweet, sleepy look on Makayla's face. Looks like she had enough excitement for one night. I hope she made a killing on the Easter Egg Hunt.

You're right, Sol, the Midnight Bunny was just loving all that attention, she soaks it up.

As for the Easter Egg hunt, of course she made a killing. She was the only "hunter" at UmmMa's house!

Great photos of beautiful subjects Annie! I think my favorite is Bud grinning in the easter basket. I notice that Amanda's head is missing from most of the photos she is in. LOL!! Around here when people come over they say hi to Sebastian and Julian and then sometimes they say hi to Lewis and myself.
