Yesterday, Ricky and I sat by the pool for a little while.

You put your right foot in....you take your right foot out........

AWWW Shaun, he is a really sweet dog! Is he a chihuahua? Love the pavers around the pool, I bet you enjoy entertaining there a lot, dontcha??

Hey rick :) This happens to a lot of fish keepers, especially with bettas. This happened to me once, the exact same scenario. Now everytime I take him out for a waterchange, I cover the cup tightly with tinfoil. They are especially prone to jumping during the waterchanges because they are stressed and want to go back in their tank. The absolute best thing to do is keep the water quality perfect. Keep ammonia at 0, and if you've got a filter, nitrite at 0 and nitrate very close to 0. If you don't already have a bottle of waterconditioner that detoxifies ammonia, I suggest you get one, like Prime. You can add this to the water instead of doing the waterchanges for now to eliminate stress. Keep tank and room lights off. Don't feed, or add melafix or aquarium salt just yet because food will most likely be uneaten, and some bettas have bad reactions to the other two. He will go through bad stage, and hopefully he'll make it. Watch for fungus. I hope he gets better soon!

Jen, full sun is a very doable thing with many orchids. Here's a list for you to consider, to attach them on tree, use a piece (4x4 inches or therabouts) of cocofiber tween the orchid and the tree, use plastic tie wraps (H.Depot electrical dept)to secure orchid to tree, you may need to use more than 1 tiedown depending on the thickness of the trunk you're attaching to. It is important that plant be secure and immobile when tied down to the trunk, new growth has to point upwards for all plants except phalenopsis, they grow hanging down. Google these plants and see what you like and I believe you have some orchid nurseries in sarasota. If you have a hard time tracking any of the plants on the list, let me know. Plants that can be grown in full sun: Encyclia tampensis - florida native, blooms in June Schomgburkia- any variety Laelia anceps - summer-fall bloomer brassavola - any variety (nodosa, cucullata, perrinii, dygbiana, mostly summer bloomers, nodosa is expecially fragrant, after dark). Epidendrum ciliare cattleytonia (CTNA)hybrids - small red/yellow flowers. If you have some partly shaded spots, then, you can use any cattleya hybrid or dendrobium hybrid or oncidium (dancing lady). and lastly if you a VERY shaded spot, you can put some phalenopsis in, for these use extra(two layers with roots sandwiched tween them) cocofiber as they will need more moisture than the other plants and preferably within reach of the sprinklers

Smoked Boston Butt: The night before cooking Rub butt with a generous helping of Boca Boys Dry Rub (see my website for details) and place, covered, in the refrigerator. Cooking/Smoking Smoke for an hour to an hour and a half per pound over charcoal and hickory chunks, until the internal temperature reaches 190 degrees. Thanks Elizablue. I got the palms from Beyond Paradise. They have a location in Cypress and one in Katy. They all are doing great and the triple Pygmy survived the cold winter which we feared it may not (I was in San Antonio when we got freezing rain that wasn't predicted so I didn't get to wrap it in a planket). The service and advice there was great too. Hope you find something you like.

Donna, yes he is listed as a Chihuahua but we think he's got a little Rat Terrior in him. Actually a Rat Terrior Breeder stopped us in PetSmart one day and told me she knew her Terriors and he was definitely a Terrior. But his AKC Papers say pure bred Chihuahua.

Yes we do enjoy a lot of entertaining. Thank you!

Poor Ricky was so scared last night, thundered/lightened, he ended up in my bed, shivering and jumping all night. I'm so tired today!

I agree, I think we need more pictures of Ricky, he's adorable and I love that "mask" he wears. Super Ricky, in disguise, LOL.

I'd play the hokey pokey with him any time and let him win. Wait. Does anyone actually WIN at hokey pokey?
