In case any one needs a little lift, here is a picture of our newest fur-baby. She is a 10 week-old mini doxie. Our little Sophie was lost without her best friend, so we brought this little one into our lives.

I love stories with a happy ending. Your doll is lovely as is your rose. One of my cats is named Gracie. I may have to find this rose for her. Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I have survived the family birthday party so far. My sister doesn't cook, but brought my favorite corned beef sandwiches from Shapiro's in Indy. Delicious! My sister in law couldn't decide on white or chocolate cake so she brought both. It was really strange being banned from my own kitchen. There were the usual gag gifts for turning 50. My sister was really disappointed when I was glad that she got me an old fashioned hand fan. It will be put to good use, if you know what I mean. I still have another party to get through this evening with some friends that are coming over. They won't let me do any of the cooking either. I am starting to go through cooking withdrawal. I have gotten lots and lots of puppy kisses today. Linda

I was at first overjoyed to read sweet Boone was doing better, than saddened to read he had another issue, then another, and now my heart is literally breaking for the loss of your sweet boy, Oak. Know you are not alone in your tears as I weep for your loss as if it were mine. He knew true love when he looked into your eyes, and always remember that. The joyous memories of Boone and Gracie will last a lifetime. Take your time to grieve, but have an open heart to allow another little puppy( or two!)to thrive on the love you gave your 2 babies for many years. It pays to check in on this thread often because there are so many beautiful things I want to comment on but I get so sidetracked when I look at th enext response! You all do great decorating! I have to say though that everytime I see the picture of Whitdobe's dog I get the biggest smile on my face! Jim - fabulous, fabulous, fabulous! JudithinVa - feels like it's been awhile since I've seen you post. Very beautiful. I love the white tree w/ pink ornaments. I just bought a pink tree for DD's room today but seeing your tree I wish I'd maybe have gotten the white one for her room. Her room is white w/ pale pink, grey and a hint of deep berry in her duvet. Hmmmmm.... What to do?! Here is the banner that I made. I made one for my Sister but I used scrapbook paper instead of old newspaper laying around. Hers is shades of pink, red and greens. Some argyle letters, stripes, floral prints, a damask and a circle pattern. Each letter also outlined in red. Her letters are of heavier weight paper so they haven't curled up like mine. I used scraps to make the holly berries & leaves w/ thumbtacks glued on to the backs. No pics of hers yet. Camera battery died and I can't find my charger.

I did see a news clip about the stow-away Gracie Mae. Amazing story. Sophie did have to go in and get even more fluids over the weekend, but she is doing much better now. She started eating again Monday and hasn't stopped yet. Sophie seems so content now. We didn't get Gracie until Sunday evening. Gracie was with another family before us, but due to the massive flooding in our area, they could not keep her. I felt so sorry for them. A couple more pictures, if you can stand them.

She is so cute. I want a puppy!!!!

I cried again today when I saw that d*#n Pedigree commercial about not all puppies get adopted. The one who didn't get adopted looks just like my beloved Chowder Mae.
