Well my box arrived yesterday but I didn't get to the goodies until late when I came in from doing Respite Care--& they made a perfect treat for my night time cup of Lady Gray !

According to her note this is an old family recipe-- from an Aunt--seems like a just perfect choice and the Nut Tassies sure are good . Thanks Stacy for sharing your family traditions with us ( and the Holiday Family photo ) .

Yesterday the mailman dropped off 3 packages !! I could get wayyyyyyyyyyy adicted to this kind of mail ! And just in time to add them to our Family Christmas celebration . Next was Alexa's -- in an adorable tin-- 2 kinds of rugeula -- that's right -- 2 different fillings -- had a hard time deciding which I liked better--but the Raspberry won ! And on second thought I'm putting them away for just us--the family cookie plate will have to go with out these goodies ! Yep all the cookies I received are going to be our little treats for the Holidays .

Mine came today too. There are now two less of them and Ashley hasn't even gotten home, so there's no one to blame except myself. I had cookies for supper with a cup of tea. It was a long day and I worked late. I came home and there was a BIG box on the porch. Hooray, it was from Sharon. I had to grin when I took off the brown paper, she'd packed her goodies in a canning jar carton, perfect for me. LOL I didn't just get cookies, either, I got a cute little stainless steel spreader topped with a candy cane, a jar of her famous chili sauce and a jar of what appears to be sweet relish? Is that what it is? Nope, I had to open it, it's more of an onion kind of relish, I think. It's yummy, not too sweet. Mmmmm. I was eating one cookie while I was taking this picture, for those who are counting. I had seconds too and I didn't reduce the picture because I thought it deserved the WHOLE MONITOR! Thank you, Sharon. I had to buy a bottle of chili sauce to make Dishedone's brisket, now I have the good stuff and cookies too! Annie

Well, I suspect they came yesterday, but they needed a signature since they were international, so they would not leave them. I went to the post office at 4:30 to pick up my Canadian package, and the line was a block long...I kid you not. When I got up to the counter, the package was still with the mail carrier, so I have to go back today. LOL. So, by the time I get them, it does not matter if they are moldy, they are gonna taste awesome! LOL. (I am kidding about the moldy) Incidentally, my DH was only out of the house a total of an hour yesterday...of course that is when they tried to deliver)

I have never had a tassie. I hope to get the recipe. Nice job, Stacy. I just love seeing the different cookies.

Diane, I'm sure those are awesome. My sister used to make pecan tassies...I loved them. Stacy, they look awesome. I would like to see the Family holiday photo.

The recipe is from Scott's Great Aunt Lucy. I had never had them, but watched his family fight over them for years. I finally had to learn how to make them and asked his mom for the recipe. (Aunt Lucy sadly passed away right after our honeymoon... so I couldn't ask her.)

his mom gave me the recipe card in Aunt Lucy's handwriting - I thought it was so cool.

I will put it in the recipe thread.

Here is our photo from this year. It's always a riot getting a decent picture with Will hamming it up, and Sammy looking anywhere but at the camera - we always end up with a series of laughable shots...Here's the one we used

And here's a glimpse of best ones - hee hee...

Too bad the lighting was bad - I would have used a laughing one for the heck of it.

Stacy, I was checking back for the recipe and I got better! Great pics. We call them the church giggles and the more you try not to...well.

I am cracking up that the dog cracked a smile too with her tongue hanging out!

Stacy, I think those are great pictures. LOL Looks like something we'd do in my family, someone would say something and no one would be able to stop the giggles.

Now, I'm off to find that recipe.

What a gorgeous family and you all look so cute trying to stifle the giggles!

I can't wait to try your tassies... I just happen to have cream cheese and butter handy, so I think I will give them a go!

I got my box of Pecan Tassies from Stacy last night, they look delicious, Stacy, thank you so much! Maybe I'll think about a mini-pan now, these tassies are so charming. I'm hoarding mine for the moment in the refrigerator, my sister comes for a visit tonight and if I'm in a good mood maybe she'll get one, lol.

It was a pleasure to "meet" you and your family through the photo, what a nice touch! Thanks again for all your hard work and I'll be watching for the recipe!

I love Pecans and those are looking very good to me right now....I'll have to wait and see if I'm one of the lucky ones.

Stacy, those are great pics! My favorite is #3, even Sammy is laughing.

sharon you're so sweet - his laugh is infectious, isn't it? I agree David - I think that one of Sammy even looks like she's winking (or wincing - lol)

alucy, I always made them in a little mini muffin pan - 12 at a time, but when I decided to do these for the exchange I bought a big Wilton one that holds 2 dozen (It was only $5 at Walmart!) and works great.

Oh and BTW, the recipe is listed under the REcipe exchange thread with the rest :-)

Oh man Stacy! These are great! Kind of like a mini pecan pie....mmmmmmmm. Thanks for the pic too, y'all have joined the masses on the fridge door my friend.

Thanks again Stacy, as you can see I saved a few more this time....not sure how long they will last though. I just had another one, okay two.....lol!

Stacy, we got our tassies. They are wonderful, better than a pecan pie! Thank you so much for the family photo, too -- what a great looking family! I cannot begin to tell you how special getting your box was for my family at this very special and difficult time for us.
