Stacie sent me a fabbo hand and heart made package that is just beautiful! Here is my haul.....a hand stitched "May God bless you season to season" wall plaque that I think will go at my front or back door. I love the county rustic look of it.

My regional item is all the wonderful produce in her canning efforts and they include:

Annies salsa

Cornichons with tarragon

Bruschetta topping

wild grape jelly

pickled red onions

And I am counting regional as the seeds she sent me from her very own garden. It is really warm here today (+7 celcius) but these will help me get thru a cold winter planning where I will put them next spring. I got dill, zinnia, marigolds, milkweed and Balsam impatiens touchments (can you tell me more about those Stacie)Finally my cookbook is a Betty Crocker Short Cut cooking, as Stacie says, this will really help out on busy work nights for Dave and I.

Finally she included a small gift from Bath and Body works she says for her tardiness (we don't have that store here, and it smells devine) and some Christmas cooking cutters from her girls to Chance. I have a few pix but my memory is going on the laptop so will have to post later tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks Stacie for the lovely heartfelt gift, it is all really special.

What a wonderful package! This really is the year for canned items, isn't it?

Monadenium have technically be absorbed into the Eupora genus but most of what I read and most retailers still list them as Monadenium. First one seems to be a Mammillaria of some sort. Not sure on the third. It looks similar to my Notocactus but I'm not at all confident in that assumption. Almost forgot, hello and welcome :)

Don't know exactly what a "ghost" is, but I do think (even as a professional scientist) there are things we cannot always understand, of a nature we might call supernatural. . 1) I am a Pagan and a Wiccan. Yes it is NOT contradictory. My parents were out of town for a long weekend and I (while freshly employed was still searching for my first home - mid 1980s). So, I was doing a house cleansing. The only other sentient form of life in the house they had then was our cat, who was sleeping on my bed. (Okay there were mice in the drop ceilings downstairs.. at least at one point.) I went through the house banishing unhappy & unpleasant energies. Now, "feeling" things shift really means nothing when it comes to determine reality or verifiable proof, as I very well understand. I left the laundry region of the house. Suddenly, I heard something crash behind me. To explain the laundry facility. It wasn't something that would fly in ideal GW/H design, but there was a stackable washer/drier, and at least 4 feet away was the cat's litter box. Earlier, I'd put a heavy duty plastic glass atop the dryer part, centered. One of those with a double shell so you can keep beverages cold longer. Shortly later, I came back - that plastic glass was sitting in the litter pan. I checked on the cat - HE hadn't moved. There were no air currents in that room. I was home alone, and I can't picture any resident mice doing this! Four feet? Was glad I was doing the cleansing. 2) Mom passed away on the Ides of March, 2001. Dad was an avowed agnostic seriously verging on atheist. Their anniversary was May 17th, and would have been 51 years of them being married. On May 16th the kitchen clock they'd bought together stopped working. It was electric, no batteries. He showed me on the 17th when I'd come over to be with him on the anniversary. He didn't unplug it. On the 17th, 48 hours after the clock had stopped, it began ticking and keeping time again. I think this kept him being more agnostic than atheist for the next decade. But I am not really sure what he thought as he eventually developed dementia. Not my story, but I believe my friends. M & T lived in an old 40s apartment complex, seriously falling part. This was in the late 60s or maybe 1970. They had little income, and the landlord was trash. The apartment had a doorbell that did not work. The place was heated by gas. One night in the middle of the night, they were wakened by the sound of the (non-workable) doorbell ringing. They awoke and noticed something was wrong. There was a whiff of gas. They got out of there, and raised the alarm for everyone else. Yes, there was a serious gas leak that otherwise might have killed them. Also while they lived there (before and after that happened) they had a cat that kept rubbing itself up against non-existent legs. They did some research on the building, and discovered something to the effect that the original architect had built this complex early in his careet, and had done his best to make it the best place possible. He'd died young. My friends believed that his spirit still hung around and provided their timely escape from deadly poisoning. ^^^^ What do I think about things? I am willing to entertain various explanations, but I don't really think science is quite ready to explain it all. (But what science does, it can do well.)

Cool...I have those cookie cutters..I better check my cupboard and see if Stacy didn't send an elf to my kitchen. LOL

Hey -- nice score, Janet! I know how much fun it is to shop for you. Looks like Stacie spent more time putting together a very personal package than just "store bought." How nice and thoughtful.

I am so glad that everything got there fine and in good shape. I was worried that the canned stuff might get confinscated . I hope that you enjoy the homemade goodies, we live in the middle of nowhere, an hour from just about anything. I enjoy making things and hoped that you liked the package.

Stacie, everything is really lovely. Can you tell me about the imaptients (sp) seeds you send....are they a regular garden variety? What kind of spot do they need? I have the wall plaque leaning on a shelf at my front door already!

Chance says thanks, she is excited about making cookies this weekend with them, and I especially think the metal ones are kind of retro cool!

All of the cookie cutters are some vintage ones that I have collected. I just love old cookie cutters and they work so well with little hands.

The impatients are balsam impatients ( touch me nots) they are are really pretty flower that is an annual but loves to reseed. The reason that they are called touch me nots is that the seed pod is a cool fuzzy football shape and when you touch them they pop into themselves and the seeds fly out. They are really fun for kids. I'm looking forward to you sharing some smart shortcuts and to hearing about and seeing the results of weekend cookie making with Chance. All of the canned foods sound great, a nice group of savory items with one sweet accent. If I canned, I'd want the recipes for all of them. I know you'll feel blessed when you walk by the plaque and think of Stacie.

It's a lovely personal package.

Very thoughtful box you put together Stacie. I love the wall plaque. It looks like a lot of time and effort went into your selections.

I'm not counting, math wasn't one of my strong suits either.

Wild grape jelly? Oh yum, that sounds perfect, and I have some of those metal cookie cutters too, I like them so much better than the plastic ones.

What a great swap package from Stacie. As for that cookbook, I have an old Betty Crocker from 1969 right on the front of my cookbook shelf and I reach for it more often than not, one of my favorites. I'll bet yours will become a favorite too.

Nice selection of home canning - I've had wild grape jelly and really like it, and I'm not a jelly person! Do you know what kind of wild grapes they were?

I love those cookie cutters - they remind me of my grandmother's, especially the red one. Is it vintage?

All of the cutters are vintage. When I was teaching I asked my mother in law to look out for some cookie cutters to use with play dough. She give me 2 walmart sacks completely full of cutters. I love cookie cutters and always pick them up at thrift stores or garage sales when ever I see them at a reasonable price.
