Sally,

I want to let you know that I got one of the boxes today. I will try to get photos taken and uploaded tonight.

I received Cookbook and Handmade items today!!! The cookbook is a Soup cookbook and the pictures are fabulous!! I have always wanted to be a good soup maker and just needed a good cookbook to get started. Now, I have one. Boy, do these recipes look yummy. Now, if the weather would just cooperate...I am ready for some COLD so I can bring on the SOUP!

Wow! I can't wait for you all to see the handmade item Sally made, just for ME. It is a framed cross-stitch picture with "Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread" on it. It is beautiful and I feel so blessed and appreciative to receive such a nice personal gift. I just love it and it will look great in my country style kitchen. It is something I will always treasure.

Thank you so much, Sally, for touching my life in this way. Looking forward to the second box!!!

RobinKate, I absolutely agree, the best use for those sweet pickles of Linda Lou's is sliced on a fish sandwich. Yum. I made a couple of batches of them this year, I love them. Lucky Deanna. The blue plate is perfectly lovely, I like that seafoam blue color really well. I supppose you COULD put the pickles in there, but I wouldn't. I'd just eat 'em out of the jar and save the pretty dish for something else. LOl Annie

Barbara, I'm glad you like them. I liked that soup cookbook enough I had to buy one for me, too. I had a lot of fun making that cross stitch.

I was actually hoping the other package would have arrived quicker! We even shipped it special so it would arrive more quickly. Next time I'll use the USPO for everything. Let me know if there are any problems with the next package, and I'll send another one.

By the way, does it ever get cold where you live?

Thanks, ann. I took my camera today to the dog show and got pics of Sushi and was going to try getting pics of the above items...I still need to find that cord to plug from the camera into the computer to upload the pics. Wish me luck here finding it!

I wish I could just reach out and take the bowl of soup that's on the cover - that looks delicious. The crosstitch piece is beautiful. I just love fall and that says it all!

I got salsa...I got salsa!!!

Yes, I can't wait to dig into these jars! For the 'local' gift, Sally sent me two jars of salsa from Neiman-Marcus. One is Raspberry Salsa and the other is Casa Salsa (House Salsa). Yummy!! Oh no, I have no chips...I guess I will be slicing and frying corn tortillas tonight. :-))

I'm glad you got them, Barb. I really was hoping they'd have some cool chips to go with them, but they didn't. Oh, well. I do hope you enjoy the salsas. What better to eat them with than your own home made tortillas.

Well that's a delicious package! Soup and salsa - hey that's a meal! And the cross stich piece is lovely and thoughtful. My SIL in Santa Fe makes wonderful homemade chips for salsa with flour tortillas fried in EVOO.

Be sure to post some soup recipes Barb - tis the season!
