WANTED: My package from Arabellamiller

Second attempt at posting while jetlagged:

I am beyond jetlagged right now having come off the red eye from SF a few hours ago. But I wanted to take a quick moment to let arabellamiller know that the package arrived and it is FANTASTIC!!! She captured my passions, which can't be, because this was supposed to be HER favorite things. I will post a picture later, but in the package were a treasure of baking spices from Penzy's, a cathedral bundt cake pan, silicone measuring cups, spoons and spatula and a hockey baseball cap from the town I grew up in (and her son's rival team). She knows I coach/play ice hockey and put two and two together to equal a job incredibly well done. Beware, she has raised the bar! Pictures to follow but I have to go coach right now.

Yikes! I'm so sorry Janet! Having had a car totalled and a front porch damaged by hit-skip drivers, I'm always sympathetic by people who try to do the right thing and get nailed by the letter of the law. Admittedly, I've skated thru more than my share of mishaps. Just out of college, I got pulled over for going 45 in a 25mph zone. I explained to the cop that I'd come back from the Middle East and was having trouble with speed limits. He thought that was funny and let me off with a warning. Here in Columbus I was making a left turn on red (from a one-way street to a one-way street, perfectly legal.) But I wasn't watching and nearly hit a pedestrian. I was pretty shaken up, so when he started to yell at me I yelled back. He backed down and told me to be more careful in the future -- it wasn't until I was three blocks away that I realized the guy was a uniformed cop -- and we'd been right in front of police headquarters. A few years ago in July I was driving behind an SUV on a narrow downtown street with construction. The driver was on a cell phone and weaving back, and I felt very morally vindicated when a motorcyle cop pulled up behind us and turned the light on. Until I realized he was signalling me to pull over. With a sinking feeling, I realized my tags had expired on my birthday in January. (I apparently have issues with timeliness.) As I handed him my license I realized that my recently replaced license was also expired. I got my ticket and had to go to traffic court. (Renewed my tags and license before my day in court.) You sit for a few hours, then get 30 seconds with the attorney; sit back down and then get 30 seconds with the judge. The attorney said, because both had been expired six months, there would be a $250 fine and I would have to take the driver's test again. In the interlude before I went before the judge, I counted up on my fingers, and realized I had renewed 1 day short of six months. I explained that, took my $30 fine and was feeling pretty smug as I went out to my car. Where I found a $30 ticket on the windshield for an expired meter. If bad catches up with you, I think good should, too. Hope your lucky break catches up with you soon, Janet!

What a wonderful package! I remember those toast racks, altho' I think we ended up using it for napkins as well! The bar set is tres chic, and I love the regional foods. I think those are often the coolest part of swap packages, but they get a run for their money in this one!

WOW...I almost bought that bundt pan the other day. It forms the coolest cake!! So fun for the holidays.

Love the Penzy's spice box. I went to my first Penzy's store not too long ago and it was great. You will love both of the Cinnamons in the box, so different and so good!

That IS a cool pan, and Penzey's spices are always good. The silicone stuff lasts forever, BTW, mine are still good as new!

So glad you like everything Jo! Now, the silicon stuff is all one thing, they were together, and I didn't count the hat as an item because it's 1)a non-cooking related item and 2)something that I do not love, since it's a rival team.

I've been a little MIA lately because of some family issues, and time constraints (3 kids, working from home, 2 boys on different travel hockey teams, school in a different town and no help). So my life is a mess, but I had a great time putting together Jo's package. I'm so glad we both love the same things!

Yes, you SO cheated, but it was thoughtful to send "the enemy's" hat, so (in my book anyway) you're excused LOL

I would love that Penzey's box of spices. And silicon spatulas are great. I have a large one I use all the time. I didn't know they had measuring spoons and cups too. Great package.

Those cake pans are just so lovely, they make a simple pound cake look like a real showstopper!! Jo, I can't wait to see the cake after you make one:-) Penzey's spices are hands down the absolute most fragrant - best for baking. I can imagine how delicious that box smelled when you opened it. I've never tried the silicone collapsible cups and spoons, they look like they'd sure be easy to use. Nice touch with the rival hat! You did real good AM, despite all the chaos at home (I understand that:-). Have fun with everything, Jo.

Oh wow...just...wow. Fabulous box! And I just love the Chef'N stuff. Their products are consistently clever & handy. I love the whole thing but especially the box of spices with the bay leaves scattered like autumn. Very, very cool.

I have that same bundt pan. I like it for my honey cakes at Rosh Hashanah. Love to set it out whole on my table and get the eye rolls. An you can't go wrong with Penzey's - unless your swap partner has one too....

Another wonderful package. I L O V E the cake pan. It makes me wish I baked cakes. The silicon pieces are great and the Penzey's collection is dynamite.
