WANTED: Toto, My swap box isn't in Kansas anymore!!!!

Marigene, girlfriend...YOU ROCK!

I stopped at the mailbox (at the end of our 1/4 mile driveway) on the way home from work and there was a box inside the mailbox. Hmmmmm, says I. Could it be a tiny little swap package? Nope, turns out it is a box of benefit enrollment stuff from my work. Oh well, says I, and I go along my merry way.

I pull the Rav into the garage, grab my purse, the mail and the wine I picked up on my way home and head towards the house. What's this? (Says I) There is a box on my porch! Yipee, Yippee! I start doing the happy swap dance. Danced all the way into the house, all the way back out to get the box, and then all the way back in again to open the box!

All that dancin' was sure worth it! This is one fine swap box, says I!

Marigene did some sleuthing and found that we like a lot of the same things. Everything was beautifully wrapped, even the "birthday gift" she included (in red paper).

And now for the show! Here are my lovely things all unwrapped! It is a sight to behold, says I.

The microplane is exactly like the one I used at Annie's. If I could have gotten away with walking off with hers, I would have, I loved it so much! LOL

There is also a vase grinder. i grow my own herbs, so this will come in habdy and I am sure be a lot more fun than my old mortar and pestle!

A set of 1 cup cinnamon colored ramekins and a set of 1/2 cup saffron colored ramekins (the birthday gift) complete this lovely box! All items I will use very, very often!

Thank you so much, Marigene! I am thrilled with my package, you hit the nail right on the head with this one!

Lucky Linda! Great swap Marigene. That grinder is interesting! If I ever find the cardomon locally, I'll need one.

Oh my, Beth, you are so sweet!!!! Well, today, I got quite a surprise. Another package at my door, and I wasn't expecting any other packages from swaps this month, so it was a mystery to me! I opened it, and it was a box from Beth, because she thought I wasn't going to receive from my pal. I can't believe you went to all that trouble!! I feel really guilty that I ended up getting two boxes from this swap. I don't feel right. I almost feel like I need to send you something now, too, Beth, because you were so sweet for sending me a box when you thought I wasn't going to get one!! I can't believe how wonderful the ladies are here on this board, you are the most generous bunch I have ever had the pleasure of knowing! Like I said, I feel really guilty, but am so grateful for your generosity, Beth. You have really brightened my day. I want to apologize to you, though, because you went through all the trouble of sending a box to me, and I ended up getting a box from my pal anyway. I hope you're not upset. Your box was so thoughtful, here is what was inside: -A really cute/thoughtful card, I love the picture! -2 kinds of Daylilies, Super Purple and Black-Eyed Stella (I love daylilies, they are quickly becoming a fav. of mine.) -A really cute little garden stake with a frog on it -An 'Autumn Leaves' candle, smells so good -Some all-purpose magnetic clips, for clipping things to the fridge and things of that nature, they will definately go to good use in this house -A few bubbles envies and some packing tape, can always use those of course! -A container of chocolate sticks Beth says are her favorite. I LOVE chocolate, but who doesn't? lol. I figured they were probably melty from the trip, so I put them in the fridge. Can't wait to try them later, they look so yummy! -A really cute fall decorated jar, full of tulip bulbs, 2 packs of seeds, and peanut butter flavored taffy candies. Well Ladies... I never got any clearance bulb shopping done today like I said I was going to : ( Oh well I am sure someone else gave all those lonely bulbs a home.Maybe there will be some left this weekend for me to snatch up.Not that I really need any more..but like I said before..there is nothing I like better than a sale : )I shoudn't complain about today tho.I did manage to get all my swap boxes ready to go for this month : ) The electricity went out in our entire town last night and it took them all night to get it fixed!Thank goodness we are having unseasonably nice weather.Otherwise I would have had to put little sweaters and booties on all my birdies : ) It actually was kinda cool really because there was a Full moon Sunday night so it was still really bright last night so I just opened all the shades and hardly needed any candles : ) Oh Sassy,I can't wait to see what you come up with for me besides : ) and : ( LOL!!! WOW...on the microplane which is on my Christmas List for this year! Love the ramekins and you can never have enough of those!

The Vase Grinder is so interesting, I'll have to google. I've not seen one before.

Great job Marigene and I know that Linda will enjoy everything!

Your favorites are my favorites, I have a lot of favorites! but that vase grinder is the best. I love those things! I'm up to two and I want more! I use one for dried shallots, the other for pepper. Great gifts, Marigene, really great going! Enjoy it all, Linda!

Ramekins are on my Chanukah list:-) I'm not sure which size would be more useful for me. They are quite pretty, red and yellow go very nicely together. Whatcha gonna make with those, Linda? I love my microplane, great choice Marigene! I've never seen the vase grinder before. Is it for grinding up things like peppercorns and dried herbs? Great swap box - enjoy it all!

Don't tell Michelle, but Santa said her WISH LIST is entirely too long, and he WISHES she would stop before he has to come take all her jarred goodies and distribute them amongst us good little girls who only asked for new toothpicks!!
I am making a list of all the things people get, and who said they wanted them so in case I ever get the courage to do a swap again, I will be ahead of the game. LOL

Linda, you have a very useful and pretty swap box! You will find that microplaner very useful, and let me know what you do with the grider. (I got one a year ago, and have only used it twice).

Another great swap package. Love your microplane, and the vase grinder! The colours of the ramekins are beautiful, and I find ramekins are so handy for so many things!

some of my favorite items as well were received in your box - ramekins (i can't get enough of these - one day i'll take a picture) and the microplane grater - i have a few different shapes/sizes and they are always in use.

the grinder is interesting, can't say i ever saw it before, but will have to check it out.

Ramekins are always so useful, I use the ones Dishesdone bought me for everything from melting a couple of pats of butter to snacks for the kids. I even make MLCs in them, which is why she got them for me in the first place, LOL. Linda, I'm sure you'll use yours a lot.

That size microplane is so useful, I know you'll love that, but I've never seen a vase grinder, so that'll be interesting to see how it works on your herbs.

A very nice swap box indeed...

Waaaaah, I'm late to posting to the swaps, and the pictures are gone! My bad.

I know marigene loves Kuhn Rikon vase grinders, they are GREAT! and I'm sure the ramekins are beautiful, I got it from the description. And whats not to like about a practical microplane?

Nice job Marigene, I know those are all your favorites, and I think they are lovely things to share.
