Shoot...a box!

I was going to try to get my "handmade" done today and get my package out before Friday, but I forgot I need a box.

Boy, how time flies when you're doing a swap.

Yea Lars, sorry about Uranus.

Not only was Uranus making a transit to my Mars, but Mercury was making transits to my Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto, and the one to Pluto was probably causing the problems. I'm very sensitive to Mars/Uranus transits, not to mention the multiple Mercury transits. Today should be calmer.

After today, you won't hear from me for a week.

I wanted to add that when the package I sent arrives (which should be Wednesday or Thursday, probably Thursday), the recipient should email Ann. I sent Ann a link to a page of pictures of what I sent so that my partner will not have to post pictures. Therefore, no one will have to wait for the pictures, and I'll try to find internet access in rural Texas. My parents certainly don't have it. My mother has used "google" in a sentence, but she wasn't sure what it was.

Attention K-Mart Shoppers my box has left the building!

It's on its way NORTH. To a land far far away from me.

It was sent Priority Mail and should arrive in 3 days which would be Saturday.

As of today, there is a box on its way North from Colorado... or maybe it's headed South. Could be East. Might even be West!

Heck it could be headed overseas. Or maybe across town. You guys will have to wait and see.

Me, too! My box is on its way to someone...somewhere... And it's due to arrive there on Tuesday!

Mine's gone! Headed east (no hint there, since I'm only 12 miles from the ocean, it's gotta be headed east).

I tried shipping it out on Tuesday but I went to one of those Postal Annex places. They wanted $67 to pack and ship it, $42 just to ship it! Three items (no, I didn't cheat)! I was flabbergasted. And I said no really fast. If it was a full swap, then maybe I would have swallowed and done it. But that much for three items staying in this country? And the delivery would still be on Monday? They're out of their frickin' minds. Then I took it to UPS and recounted the story. They said it would be at least that much. I left there too. Finally took it to the post office and shipped it Priority Mail for half that price. Sheesh. Sorry to rant but I thought someone was smoking some postal crack.

dlundin, I agree - they are out of their minds at those postal places! I won't even buy stamps from them!!

I stopped going there last year. From now on, I use the US postal service.

Well I went to get my regional item today and can't find it. The store I went to has carried it for years but has stopped!!!

Also finally found the cookbook I want but had to order online...hope to have it here by Wednesday. So I'm on the hunt for a different regional item but at least I have until Wednesday!!

My cookbook should be here today so says UPS tracking. I ordered it Wednesday. It started off in Nevada then went to Calif. then to Phila. and is out for delivery. That's pretty quick since yesterday it said it wouldn't be delivered until Monday. Hopefully I'll be able to ship Monday to someone outside of Pa.

PAm, no I never feel doubtful about my purchases after seeing the other swap boxes. Well not until i have shipped mine out and it is too late. LOL. Don't worry, your partner will love it!!

Mine's going out on Monday, too!

Diana, once to the UPS store and was quoted such an outrageous price I never went back. A box, bubble wrap and packing tape was over twenty bucks. I do priority mail now every time. The only thing is that the package is usually delivered by the time they get the tracking info into the computer!

Mine is finally all ready to go.....I have to work a 12 hr day tomorrow so maybe Sunday afternoon or Monday for sure!

I just got home from the post office! The post office said the parcel should reach its destination within 8-10 business days.

My parcel is heading south! And no further directional hint will be given. Mailing it sets up the excitement level another notch!

My package should be going out today, thanks to DH. I was hoping to send it yesterday, as I have Mondays off work, but I just couldn't quite get everything ready in time. Luckily, DH doesn't go to work till noon, so he's graciously volunteered to get everything to the mail center for me.

Did I really post that a WEEK ago??? Okay, so it took me all week to finish up the handmade item(s), get everything decorated and wrapped and packed. Now, I just need to do a write up and card and it IS ready to go...first thing on Monday.

BTW, which service have you guys found to do the best job for a package...UPS, Fedex, or USPS? I know the costs are different.

Barb, you can go to all of those websites with box dimensions and weight and get estimated costs and timetables. I have found FedEx to be the least expensive and its great if you sign up and have an account - just print out your label (get a clear sticky envelope first from them) and drop the box off at any FedEx. You can track it online too.

My box is outta here! Whew! It went to the post office first thing this AM, so another delivery is on the way. It should be on ___________'s doorstep in 2-3 days.

My package went out yesterday afternoon!!! A certain someone should receive it in the next few days. I did take pix.

Okay. I wrapped up all my goodies last night. This morning I trash picked a box from a dumpster (nice and clean and dry), so it looks like I will make the "mail by" deadline.

Tonight the goodies go in the box, the box gets addressed and I hope I get to the UPS store tomorrow. It may be Thursday. Then off it goes courtesy of Big Brown. Leaving Pennsylvania and heading to ??

I did take pictures, although i had to unpack a couple items to do it. Glad i remembered.

And I totally stressed about my items. I bought two cookbooks and couldn't decide which to send. Well, I suppose I could send both, but then I would stress about breaking the rules.

Well it's on it's way, WHEW! I am really uptight about this one because I absoluely broke US Federal law in what I shipped, If they xray the parcel I'm doomed.....do they xray? Nevermind I don't want to know! It's going air, the post office lady said that air parcels go through less scrutiny because they clear customs at the airport not in a postal facility.....don't know if that is true but...it's leaving on a jet plane!

Anyhow I lied on the bill of lading (that's probably another offense) so hopefully they'll think it's some dodering old lady sending goodies to her family and just pass on by.

I shipped last Monday the 24th....and paid for 5 to 7 day shipping. It looks like it won't be delivered til tomorrow, and that is 10days. Should I do anything? Can I do anything or will they just brush me off?

Somebody south of me should get a package tomorrow!!
