Ah, at last I am done deciding what to send you, however the wait is not over yet. You see the cookbook has not arrived yet and I only placed the order for your local item last night. I could have gone to get it, but the temptation to go on a spending spree would have been too much for me. So paying shipping is the more frugal choice.

Then there is your homemade goodies, which I believe is 3/4 complete... There is one item I would really like to make and add to the grouping, as time permits.

You local was the hardest choice for me to make, would you want some syrup, or chocolate, how about some salad dressing, or I could send a Snow Flake Bentley photo of a single snow flake crystal? Oh the choices they might kill me I thought as I tried to narrow it down. Finally I remembered ____ ______ ____ and looked there yesterday. I thought maybe a ___ to help you make a ___ ____, there was a _____ ___ ___ that had that and some more. But no it was backordered, and it seemed a little mean. So I got you a ______ ___ with ________ for _______ and a ____ ______ ____ too. You said you like to ____ _______ in a thread so long ago, so this should fit, I hope...

So while I am done deciding, and even the shopping is done, your package is not ready, you will have to wait some more I am sad to say. But do not pine or fear, it will be ready some day...

Annie, I took all the oils and the penzey's spices on vacation and they were great. We have been on a bit of a from scratch pasta sauce kick and the basil oil meant we never had to buy fresh basil for just a tiny amount. I have also been quickly depleting the garlic oil, so good over broccoli with butter and a splash of soy sauce. I used the lemon oil in Tomato Basil butter the other day and it was a real time saver. I think I will be ordering oils soon :-) Although I did find the garlic oil in Trader Joe's on the cape. I look forward to the champagne vinegar as well, this whole package is so wonderful. I even found a source for unripe apples next year so I can try a greater selection of the recipes from my new cookbook. Good friends who are always happy to eat my jam have an apple tree on their property. Ann, you are right the box was huge, I used it to send out my swap package. So my swap partner will be receiving a well traveled box. -Robin

I visit Oregon whenever possible - it is defintely one of the most beautiful states. The cheeseboard is stunning, as is the quilting. Everything looks great. From what I can tell, the Ina Garten books will be fantastic also, although I've never seen her. I tried to get one of her videos for this swap on eBay but got outbid. I'm so sorry about your loss. If you can find a grief counselor, you minister or a friend who can direct you right now I think it may be a good idea...not that I think you are ready to totally deal with your grief, but to help you get some semblence of order into your life. You NEED to get that Social Security started. Don't worry about touching his stuff, that can all wait. I'm sorry about giving the car away, and don't know your family dynamica, but doubt you can get it back. If you have life insurance you can collect on your husband you need to get that going also. Now the next thing I found from watching a friend go through the loss of a child is to remember that everyone grieves in their own way, so don't compare yourself to ANYONE ELSE. Don't hurry this, and don't worry if you are "not grieving correctly' (As you may find people telling you at some time, they are wrong, not you). Right now you need to take one day at a time, and within that one day, you will find that there are times you are taking one minute at a time. People will tell you it will get easier, and it will, the pain lessens. The love you had for your husband doesn't lessen! Don't worry about that. The guilt will lessen and go away (you can What if yourself to a nervous breakdown, but it wasn't your fault you didn't know!!) Come here often, there are so many wonderful people who can help you...Lulie-Wayne is the first one that comes to mind (and I know there are others, I apologize for not naming you as I've seen how special all of you are, I will lose this message if I go back to find other names). They have been where you are and can help in so many ways. Use they're shoulders to cry on, knowlegde they had to gain to help you, and their ears to just listen. Vickey-MN

We have a few addicts in our family. You probably know these things, but in case you don't... The first things drugs do is destroy a person's conscience. Right and wrong mean nothing to an addict--they only care about finding the money for their next fix. Addicts lie. MOST of the time. NO ONE can 'fix' an addict or their relationship with one. As long as you're trying to help him (paying for life's essentials, letting him get away with abusing you, etc), YOU are keeping him an addict. Most addicts really don't change. The few who do usually do so only after they've totally hit rock bottom. Helping him as you are, is keeping him from deciding to get the real help he needs. Look, as the others have said, YOU cannot fix this problem. All you really can do is save yourself. Get out. Take some time to heal, and find a real man, who truly loves you, and won't abuse you physically, verbally and financially. And just in case those words don't help you make up your mind--are you prepared to go to jail for this man? If the police find drugs in the car while YOU'RE driving it, YOU could be charged with the crime. And do you really believe this guy would step up and claim ownership of them to get you out of trouble? I doubt it. Whatever else you decide to do, please start squirrelling money away for the legal fees you no doubt will be paying sometime in the future, because one or the other of you will probably need to be bailed out and defended at some point

The homemade/handmade is a work in progress...the local item is noted, and will be procured next week. The Cookbook..that will be whatever strikes my fancy on a shopping spree this weekend.....

Okay partner your ______ ___ with ________ for _______ and a ____ ______ ____ too, should be at my house on October 18th. Amazing that somthing that is traveling from VT to VT and was shipped on the 13th is going to take 5 days. Perhaps that is becasue according to the package tracking it is leaving the state to spend some time in Massachusetts. Hope it has a nice vacation. I am feeling a more confident that you will like it, maybe...

As for the cookbook, it is scheduled to arrive between the 17th and 30th. So I guess I have a little time to make the last item.

Jessy, no I do not have an original Snowflake Bentley. However there are reproductions available.

Those snowflake things are truly awesome. I saw photos on the net and they were so cool. There is a collection of prints made from these slides at the Buffalo Museum of Science, apparently.

Okay partner I just received your cookbook in the mail today. The funny thing is it has a mark on the cover of where a sticker used to be in just the same place as my own copy. So now I just have to decide if I wish to make one more thing or go with what I have. So I will be shipping early next week either way.

Robin, just so you know, it is easy to remove marks on book covers from stickers using lighter fluid. I only know this because I bought a cookbook for Matt in the used book store on Tuesday and that is how the owner removed a black sticky mark on the cover. Was so quick. Better than the "goo" remover that I have.

Okay, the package was shipped today. I think it will arrive on Tuesday, Wednesday at the latest. Thats good Tuesday should be a busy day for me so it will keep my package checking to a minimum.
