WANTED: Bought... but now....

OK, I got my swap items purchased this weekend (YAY!!!), but now I've got to get them shipped... and that's the issue.

Finding my favorite things was easy, Sopping at 3 was not!! BUt I was good!! One "set" and two other items (mostly).

but getting to a shipping location when I'm not also supposed to be at work (or commuting to or from work) is a challenge! I now work over an hour from my house, so ... my swap partner may be waiting until Saturday, when I can get to a UPS store! (OK, so I'm not sending to Canada).

Patience, swap partner, it'll be on its way, soon!

Over the past 4 years, especially my first and second, my budget was SO tight. I only bought roses for less than $8, and bought many a grade #2. Honestly looking through my garden now, I can't tell the 1,s from the 1 1/2's from the 2's, and really don't remember or care which was which. I specifically remember two grade 2's I got from Orchard Supply - a Brides Dream, and a mismarked Pink Promise which ended up Pink Peace. They took a long time to mature, but they are both GORGEOUS now.

The route which will give the least headache is to use direct wire 120V AC lighting. Two other alternatives 1. Have the existing 120V AC wiring for the UCL separated out to form the low voltage wiring. Downsides - may not be simple depending on how it was wired up. A separate 120V AC run (with switch(es)) is required to the power supply (transformer). 2. Fish new low voltage wiring and add a separate 120V AC run with the necessary controlling switch(es) to the power supply (transformer). Your electrician will need to use the appropriate wiring gauge to account for the voltage drop and current draw. In both cases, the power supply could be left in the basement. Both could require additional holes inside the cabinets.

Thanks, funcolors. The only ICI distributor is farther away than two or three BM dealers...when I was getting EK it was worth it but I was trying to stick closer to home since there are all the BM dealers there. Re Aura: the thing I notice is that every color seems to be that color "plus a touch of black". One person at a BM store (who has sold me Aura in the past) explained why it was to me, something in the particular pigments they use for it, but I can't remember it now. It works fine with many of the colors and doesn't bother me, but not all, and since the Pearl Gray is so light, I didn't want to risk anything. The only other issue w/Natura is all the offgassing reports I've read online. Neither DD nor I noticed anything--but then again, the "First Coat" I put on there the day before was still lingering.

But I'll try to do a little something something :D Even if it's just saying hello with some ultra nutty pecan bars :D I'm hoping to buy some bar stools for the kitchen asap... ones that will go under the island as temp eating. We are also going to be getting one of those 6 or 8ft tables from costco with folding chairs for the mean time, if that's what we eat on for Thanksgiving, so be it. It will give us the "Remeber 35 years ago, our first thanksgiving in a new home and we ate on folding chairs and paper plates?" -- well we have plates. hehe. We figure that this type of table/chairs will ALWAYS come in handy during parties. Also more links about our journey there.

I should have been done myself, but I got too busy doing other things.I packaged mine up today, and off it goes tomorrow. I just have to get my husband to carry it into the post office. To awkward for me to lift. You have lots of time Elizabeth. No hurry!!! Diana55

Bizzo, Terri is right Bizzo, there is still plenty of time.

I have two of my items bought, and I have a very good idea what the third item will be. So far, each item is just individual and not a set. The item that I have in mind for the third item has the option of being single or a set. Decisions, Decisions.

OK, I'm almost done! I've got two of my three "fave" items. One was dead on what I wanted to get, the other was a last minute change of my mind, because I realized that I really liked it, plus, I couldn't find the other item I was looking for. Sorry to be so cryptic, I really am enjoying the shopping process and hope my partner will love what I get for her! Bizzo, I echo what Teri said, we're doing OK on time so don't fret:-)

I am so shipping challenged!! Last swap I was in (homemade) I made stuff, and then it took two weeks for me to actually mail it! I'm headed to Florida for Mom's 70th the weekend before the swap end date, so I'm trying to plan ahead this time... especially since the Post Office doesn't like to open just for my schedule!!!

I'm not too stressed about it.... really, I'm not!! :)
