Well, we are waiting and not patiently...........

Katie apologized for taking so long to ship the box, I have no problem with that as I am still enjoying my "swap high".

As you can see in the photo above, Katie sent five categories, each with interesting, regional, and yummy goodies.

The Sauces and Seasonings:
BBQ sauces from the backwoods to the foo-foo Coeur dAlene Resort (I have stayed at Coeur dÂAlene Resort several times and hope to again; but I have also stayed in the backwoods, Katie is Sandpoint backwoods?).
-The Coeur dÂAlene Caramelized Onion Grilling & Glazing Sauce. I can tell by the color that I will love this.
-North IdahoÂs Backhills Barbeque Sauce. This has habanero, you know how I love HOT!
-Just Simply Good Stuff Rub. This smells wonderful!
The Sides:
-TimÂs Chips. Katie, why did you send me empty bags? Okay, I will confess. I opened one of the bags, got a phone call, came back to the bag but picked it up from the wrong end and emptied the entire bag on the floor. I went to get a broom and dustpan. When I got back there were only crumbs; DH had picked them all up claiming the "five second" rule! His testimony was that they were outstanding. So I had to open and eat the remaining bag-TimÂs Wasabi chipsÂyummy, never had that flavor before.
-Huckleberry Poppyseed Vinaigrette, let me repeat thatÂHuckleberry Poppyseed Vinaigrette! This was the recommendation of the huckleberry shop (how cute is that?) owner.
The Sweets:
-Rhuberry Jam. This is some of KatieÂs homemade stock. My new toasted oven arrived today too. This gave me an excuse to make mid-day toast and jam thus killing two birds at one time. Can you say "I thought I died and went to heaven"?
-Apricot Conserve. Another of KatieÂs homemades. I love conserves. Is that on our agenda at Canny Camp?
-Heart of Idaho Hucklebrrry Fudge Brownie Mix. This was recommended by nearly the entire town so sorry AnnT, I was scheduled to make your brownies, but I will have to put that off until next week. Can I make these in my toaster oven? IÂm still on the learning curve with the TO.
-A homemade and recycled glass jam dish. My picture didnÂt do it justice. It is a beautify color of red.
The Drinks:
-Gourmet Huckleberry Tea-I love my flavored teas-with lots of ice please!
-A Variety of Tea Flavors-I donÂt have to share with anyone do I?
-Reusable Brew Bags. Oooh, I can use this for spices too! You are right Katie, whatÂs better than a disposable gadget.
The Recipes:
-Library ClubÂs Recipes Logged From The Woods Of North Idaho. Katie shared some background on this very old and historic cookbook. Some of KatieÂs recipes are included, but it was by choice! I have perused the book and like the simplistic recipes. I will proudly but KatieÂs name and the Swap date in the front of the book and add it to my regional cookbooks.

And, I canÂt forget the travel brochures that Katie included. DH has been ooohing over the pictures saying "hey, look at this". I have promised he that we would go to Idaho on vacation ever since I worked there.

Cathy, Katie did a great package! Must be darn good chips if your husband ate them off the floor!!! I am not much of a potato chip muncher but those wasabi chips sound wonderful as do the homemade rhuberry jam and apricot conserves. Can't wait for recipes from the cookbook. Enjoy everything!

Wow! And this is a mini swap? Holy Cow!

Ohgood...the one place in town that has bubble wrap was out and she scrounged through the store to come up with some used bubble wrap for me. Glad everything made it! There was one more little thing that I wanted to include, but it wasn't processed yet...I will try to get it out of here this week, though.

Cathy, I'd completely forgotten that you were familiar with the area! (Boy is it changing fast!). Sandpoint is not exactly backwoods...more of a yuppie/artsyfartsy/ski town wannabe, lol. I'm on the other side of the county...a little more, ummmm...downscale, but prettier I think. I drive along the Pend Oreille River every day on my way to work...heron, bald eagles, too many deer, frequent moose sightings and very little traffic.

(Notice that the jar labels are from my swap package...just in time, thankyouverymuch Linda!)

What a great swap. I love that camera-a-ready, Cathy, approached her porch ready to shoot away.

Oh, the yummies, homemade in Idaho! (be still my heart)
And places to visit in print, and perhaps in a future vacation? Does it get any better than this?

That is a very awesome package. Katie, I think everybody on this CF would love to get homemade things from you! You did a wonderful job, and Cathy, you enjoy all those wonderful goodies!

Oh my gosh, aren't those bags gorgeous. They are a gift in themselves.

This swap is not only introducing me to new food items, it's also giving me the itch to go visit the places you all live! I've never seen a moose in my life.

Dedtired, You are right, I meant to add the bags as a gift, the were promptly put in the wrapping center for future use. Katie says she goes by the Pend d'Oreille River everyday, she is truly blessed. Lake Pend d'Oreille is ranked as one of the most beautiful lakes in the world and it is the third deepest in the world.

Ooops, I forgot to report that I made the Hucklebrrry Fudge Brownie Mix last night (in my new toaster oven) and, yes, they live up to the hype!

I also made used the vinaigrette, another winner. I had field greens, sun-dried tomatoes, grape tomatoes, cheddar crumbles, (real) bacon bits, pine nuts, and a hand thrown dressing of EVOO and the Huckleberry Poppyseed Vinaigrette. I could eat that vinaigrette with a spoon!

What a pretty package, and so thoughtful to get home made stuff! Enjoy it all mustangs!

Hey Pam, come on up to Northern Ontario anytime, no turtles but we got moose, but you can't "scoot" them!

Jessica, Yes the brew bags are Norpro. I used one for the huckleberry tea that Katie sent.

Also, I got the Cusinart TBO175. It was delivered the same day as Katie's swap box. I haven't used the ovens since. DH asked if I painted the TO (the white $8 practice unit)! Of course his question was tongue-in-cheek.

Hey, in our house those chips would have been subjected to the 5 second rule too, so Raymond did well!

The wrapping is lovely, I'm another person that doesn't wrap things, although I should.

Katie's homemade preserves and conserves, though? I don't know how you could beat that.
