WANTED: I'm having 'Sundae's' tonight !!!! Thanks Alison !!!

I woke up this morning, and I was pouring myself a cup of coffee, when my husband asked me when I was going to open up that package. He pointed to a box that was sitting on the floor by the laundry room. I screamed "WHAT"!!! He said it arrived yesterday. I asked him why he didn't tell me, and he said, he thought I saw it. You see, I do alot of shopping on E-Bay, and he assumed it was just another parcel from E-Bay.LOL

I grabbed the box, and my coffee, and headed outside to the Patio. I wanted to be on the Patio to, open my Swap Box, as I wanted the enviroment to be with the Theme. Actually, it was a beautiful sunny morning too!!!

The box that Alison sent it in, I can reuse, as it is just the perfect mailing box, and I do alot of mailing myself. Just wanted you to know that Alison, as I do appreciate you sending it in such a strong, durable box, that I can reuse. Hey, one of you may get it in a future Swap!!!LOL

Well, these are the wonderful items I pulled out of the box :

1) "World Market" Cedar Grilling Papers. I can't wait to roll up some "Fresh Sockeye Salmon" in these !!! Then onto the Barbacue they go.

2) "Torani Caramel Sauce"

"Torani White Chocolate Sauce"

"Torani Caffe Mocha Chocolate Sauce"

3) "Two Blue Sundae Dishes"

"Two Green Sundae Dishes"

I just love them, and so does my daughter, as I don't have Sundae dishes, and I have been meaning to bye some. Alison, the colors are just perfect, as green & blue are the colors I use on my Patio!!! I can't believe it!!! Do the people on this Forum have physic powers, or what? I'm off to the store to bye icecream, and its Sundaes for us tonight!!! My daughter informs me I must bye "Sprinkles" too!!!LOL

Thank you so much for everything Alison, and I just want you to know you have made my day!!! I wish I could post pictures, but my Camera has been sent away for repairs, for the third time, since I got the camera for Christmas. If you happen to have taken pics, would you please post them for me!!! If not, I will definately take pics when I get it back. Thank you once again!!! I LOVE EVERYTHING!!!

The dishes look something like this, but they are green & blue.

Alison, the weather here is really warm, so I can't think of a better time for Sundaes, and Barbacueing !!! I'm going away, in two weeks ( Camping ), and those dishes will be coming too !!! I will be making Sundaes, and eating them around the campfire, and then I will be joining " Weight Watcher's" when I get back!!!LOL Just kidding, as no one has a weight issue in this family. Not yet anyways!!!LOL Thank you once again !!! Diana55

Gidgetsocal, I think its your Foliage Pro, as I have had my Musk Rainbow since 2006, and its grown but I would def not consider it a fast growers at all..lol. I use to spray my plumies with SNG, double strength 2x a week, would get tons of inflos and crazy growth from it. The plants would grow so fast that the branches were too soft and would droop/sag. I now only use 12 mon time released Nutricote and sometimes Miracle grow liquid hose end fertilizer. Personally I prefer my plants a bit slow growing as they do not take up as much space, plus since I do not live close to my patch the 45min plus drive is a bit much to feed my plumies couple times a week. So I agree with you that it is most likely your foliage pro. Congrats though on the amazing growth. George Brown/Musk Rainbow is one of my top favs. Cheers

I had to laugh when I saw the jar opener next to the silver salt & pepper shakers! I was also shocked to see sterling silver - those are very beautiful, and I love the way they photograph - in the close-up view I can almost see a reflection of the photographer, but she managed to hide herself very well. The jar opener looks like it will be very useful - mine works but could be better. I kept translating the name "Liebling" as "darling" while I was reading the posts until I noticed that it was the author's name. I scrolled past the first part too fast. I had a client in San Francisco who had a house high up on Telegraph Hill, and I worked on several rooms in that house. The views there are the best! It sounds like your friends were his neighbors. I also like the square plates and am another fleur de lis fan, having a French grandmother on my father's side. Very impressive! Lars

~whew!~ Ah don't worry Diana I was only messing with you and all the other cheaters (me included - my box to Alison). I kinda imagined AnnT as John Cleese and all of us rabid females just waiting to pounce on those who can't count to three and/or yell 'Jehovah'. Except I wouldn't want her stoned. I should post the link on Dlundin's thread so you won't feel lonely! We are big Python fans. A friend of ours, she is 14, can recite all the skits by heart. We were kinda hoping her Bat Mitzvah theme would have been Python, it wasn't, but her 'montage' (a traditional 10 minute video where pictures of the kid growing up are shown during the party) opened with the rabbi saying 'And now for something completely different'. And don't you DARE be 'good' in the future swaps! What would we have to complain about if you didn't, or if everyone behaved for that matter (DON'T ANSWER THAT)? Hugs, GF, didn't mean to put you on the spot but it sure was fun!

Very good choices and impressive for a first timer. I had never seen the chicken baker before, but its very attractive and I'll be interested to hear the results from when you use it. It sounds like she did a great job with the cookbook, and that can be very tricky. I'm looking forward to reading about the recipes and what you like in it. Local honey is always very good, and orange blossom is one of my favorites. I always get Central Texas clover honey whenever I go back to visit my parents, but I buy orange blossom honey here. It is supposed to help you fight allergies, but that might be a myth. Good start - especially for following the rules!! Lars

We have Sundae dishes exactly like these and use them ALL THE TIME for pudding, mini trifle, jello and then of course ice cream. The sundae dishes make a simple dessert special and so pretty.

The toppings sound delish! I've never heard of grilling papers and will have to check these out. Can you wrap just about anything, meat or veggies, in the papers?

Those sauces sound decadent, and I really hope Alison will post pix of the sundae dishes.

Grilling papers? I have never seen those. It will be fun to try them on the BBQ!

i love my sundae cups and like michelle, we use them quite a bit. i too will be interested in seeing or hearing more about those grilling papers ~~ never heard of them before.

Yay! They arrived safely!

When I saw those sundae glasses, I knew they'd be perfect -- so cool and summery. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures, but they are lovely colors, sort of a pale green and frosted blueberry.

And then you had to have the sauces to go with the cups....

I'm glad you haven't tried the grilling papers before -- and that you're looking forward to them. As I said in my note, I was a little hesitant to send anything cedar out to the Pacific Northwest, but they're just so neat! I've grilled shrimp in them, and a vegetarian friend of mine loves doing veggies and cheese -- she says cedar smoked gouda is a real treat!

I'm so glad they arrived, and that you like the items. I had a lot of fun wrapping them all up. (That box is fabulous, isn't it? )

What a great swap box, Alison. I particularly like the grilling papers...hmmmm. Please post your recipes using these, Diana. Sundaes are a perfect fit.

Smokin' papers sound very cool to me! I still have my bag from Janet to try out....I need to do that soon and report back. Nothing better than a cold dessert after smokin' something on the grill....looks like your good to go with those dessert glasses Diana. Great package Alison.

Such neat, unique items so far in this swap! I'm out looking for the grilling papers. Poor DH he set up this outside kitchen, and now I plan that EVERYTHING he makes for those meals is grilled - we don't have enough room on the Weber. LOL his solution - bring down the old grill and put it next to the new one.

I've never seen the grilling papers, those are very clever.

Since it's been nearly 100 even here, ice cream sundaes are the perfect food I think.

Great package, and I'm sure Diana is enjoying it all.

That Alison packs a good swap box, doesn't she? The grilling papers are very cool...DH just bought a new grill, we'll have to be on the lookout for those. Love those classic sundae dishes and Torani makes great flavors. 97 here today and 104 by Friday. We're going through lots of ice cream!
