WANTED: Terri Sent A Terrific Summer Package!!

I took a day off and was working in the yard when the mailman approached me and handed me a package from the State of Washington. No, I had not ordered anything....then it hit me...this is my swap package!!! From Terri!!!

First, she sent red, white and blue placemats (which are reversible) and matching red and blue napkins. This will be perfect for my DH's birthday breakfast poolside!!

Second was a lovely handmade mortar and pestle. The blue bowl is handmade and gorgeous - my photography does not do it justice! Terri, I mix a lot of my herbs and this will be perfect for grilling rubs!

Third is the Taste of Home's "Cooking for 2 - Easy Summer Meals". This will come in very handy when the heat of summer demands easy dinners. I have looked through the magazine and there are some delicious sounding salads, pastas and berry desserts. The savory pork salad will be on our menu later this week!

This is everything together......

Terri, you must have ESP - my acrylic poolside dishes are light blue! The placemats match perfectly!!

What a wonderful package and just in time for the Fourth of July. How lucky that everything matches your outside dinnerware. The mortar and pestle are adorable and I bet you have fun with them.

Terri was my last "swappie". She sent me a great cookbook for two. Coincidently I have it in my tote bag for work today since I have to make a nice dinner for two tonight and will buy ingredients on the way home.

Wow, how perfect is that. The placemats look wonderful with your chair cushions and I love the matching blue and red napkins. Andi, I know that you will put that beautiful mortar and pestle to good use.

It's true! Good things come to those who are patient, and sometimes to those who aren't LOL!!! Brrejr sent a VERY generous package and my mailman (who knows me all too well) tracked me down at the pool and hand delivered it to me so they wouldn't sit in the heat waiting for me to come home. I am the lucky recipient of: Guardian Angel Pineapple Punch Blue Blazes Blue Arrow Blue Bunting Midwest Magic They are all having a drink in the kitchen and will be lounging there until the heat wave ends here. Thanks Girls for the support.. I'd understand it totally if I was sending it to CA from WA..It can take forever, even Priority. I have a friend I send alot of stuff to in PA, and she always has it by day 3 but when I'd send a package to my Mom is CA, it would take atleast 2 more days beyond stuff to PA! Thanks for reassuring me that maybe they just aren't updating the "process" like UPS and FedEx do with each stop and scan.

If refrigerating, bring to room temperature before using. Blanch the asparagus in lightly salted boiling water for about 3 minutes or until crisp-tender; do not overcook. Oh you lucky duck. I was the recipient of Terri's Tayberry Jam and boy do I wish I had more. It is fantastic. Enjoy -- but eat it slowly. You'll be sad when it is gone. I have a "Made by Terri" apron, too! I use it all the time. The handiwork on it is lovely. How thoughtful that Terri made one for MacKenzie, too. And a summer dress! I think I remember seeing her dresses on Chance, too. What a lovely and thoughtful swap box. Ann matched up two very special people.

Those placemats do match perfectly..
And durn if the store had had two of those mortar/pestals I'd have one too!!!!

I love that morter and pestle! And I really like the colour scheme, perfectly matches Andi's outside decor. I'm curious about that pork salad recipe.

Love the theme, and I love that mortar and pestle. I've been buying whole spices like cumin seeds and mustard seeds for Indian cuisine and I'm roasting them and grinding them in the M/P. Much more aroma and flavor than store-bought ground spice.

Those placemats and napkins do go perfectly with those blue "pool" dishes and the mortar and pestle is very cool and very useful.
