Netla, great package. Love the candy bar wrapping, the Spice of Life sounds like something I could go for, but.... the orange brandy with sliced kumquats really gets my mouth watering. Enjoy it, Tracey!

Cool things! Literally! It's been pretty darn hot in our neck of the woods, so I am sure Tracey will enjoy cooling off with such delectible items. I take that you Icelandians have a sweet tooth, yes? Well, ummmmmmsss coming from me.

You noticed, even the packaging looks cool and refreshing.

I love the crocheted toppers. Will make little coastery thingies after the eats are gone. They will be gone soon I'm sure.

I'll try to write down a recipe for the jam and post it soon. I don't really use a recipe, and usually just slosh whatever strong liquor I have on hand into the jam...

The coffee is made by a specialty store and is packed while still hot after roasting and grounding, so should be very fresh. My mother recommended it, as I'm not really a coffee expert.
The nice packaging for the chocolate is only sold in the gift shop of the Icelandic National Museum and a few other specialty stores. I thought it would be nice to send that instead of the regular packaging. The girls in the picture are wearing national costumes. Unfortunately I forgot to add the postcard I got from the gift shop - Tracey, you'll get it in the mail one of these days.
I'm glad you like the jelly - it's the first time I use brandy in it, but I have previously used whisky which is also good. I didn't really like it with vodka - not enough flavour. I don't use a recipe as such, but will set one down and post on the forum before long.
The jar tops are indeed my own work - I crochet like mad when I watch TV and it was nice to find a new recipient for some of the stuff I have been making (the family are beginning to get a haunted look when I hand them a package...)
The book is full of recipes from Iceland. You can find many of them (or variations anyway) on my website.

Netla, that is a wonderful package - so representative of where you live - I love it! And the personal crocheted touch, too.

Netla , what I great parcel! A parcel from so far away is very special, love that you did an Icelandic theme. Long ago I received a swap from Switzerland, it was so wonderful having things I'd never seen and the fact that the ingredients/ instructions etc were in a different language made it even more special.
