I got my box......!!!!!

I got a really nice box from bizzo! I will post pics later. DH has to help me get them uploaded and posted.

I received a really pretty plate in the shape of a flower with blue flowers on it with matching cups! Perfect for outside or summer entertaining.

I also received two local cookbooks. One from Mystic called Saltwater Foodways and the other is Connecticut Farmer and Feast: Harvesting Local Bounty. It is all about the Connecticut farmers markets. I haven't had a chance to read either of them, yet, but I hope to this week.

Thank you so much, Bizzo, for making my swap such a memorable one. I haven't participated in years so it was a nice comback.

My box to my swap partner is on its way. I do hope it won't take the slow boat.

Wow! I'm so glad it got there, and hope nothing got mangled! I had so many grand ideas for you, but shipping overseas I tried to keep it simple and non-breakable and a little lighter weight! yes, I know books aren't light, but they are lighter than pottery or glassware and much sturdier!!

I really hope you like the cookbooks! I bought them both at a bookstore in Mystic and they definitely reflect a bit of the part of the world I live in now...

Suzanne, Thank you for the compliment. If there had been anything at all wrong with the bulbs I sent you I would have given you a complete refund plus replacement bulbs. I sold to a few folks from Garden Web this year. I hope all goes well. GarlicLady, next year I'll have to buy something from you so I can add ya'll to my list of fav's. Local harvest is a good idea...I'm the only specialty grower with in 100 miles and have never gotten a call from anybody seing my listing on there. Garlic isn't real big aroud here I guess.

I would definitely put the enchilada pan to good use, and I love the red crock! I really love that shade of red for dishes and pans. As for the bird feeder, personally I would not give it to the birds (they don't need feeding here anyway) - but I can think of other ways to use it. I would probably put candy in it. Anyway, I think it's too nice to put outside, and I would want to keep it indoors. Great package, Maggie - it looks like you did your homework! Lars

Lucy, Joe has no idea just how much I have. Clare, I love the Harvest Forum and you will be just in time for the yearly fruitcake frenzy. Harvest is mainly about canning and preserving any kind of fruit, veggie and even meat. There's also posts on fermenting like making your own vinegars. It is fun! I canned my butt off this year so have a wonderful variety in my pantry and most of the info came from the Harvest Forum from wonderful giving people. Today there was a post about a Christmas Canning Swap and you make a craft from a canning jar and send it. I will have to do some research first to see what I would make but I might sign up for it. I was offline for three days so it took me a while to get back to exchanges. The box got there sooner than I expected ! Sorry, Lisa, Or I would've responded last Monday!

I didn't take pictures, but since I'm not sure if Lisa will be able to as it's been several days, I'm going to share a link to the other cookbook as well... I liked the photos and stories in this one, I hope Lisa will, too!

I would say that you nailed it Bizzo.

I'm looking forward to Lisa's pictures. But in the meantime, I'm admiring that cookbook cover. Farmer and Feast - what a great title. If the cover is anything to go by, that must be one amazing cookbook.

Everything on that cookbook cover is so perfect and delicous looking. And Saltwater Seaways sounds fascinating.

It's a lovely selection of America for Lisa. I hope we get to see the plate and cups too.

You can never go wrong with a cookbook and I really like the looks of that one, I'll look forward to seeing some recipes from that.
