OMG Diana Does it Again !

Well maybe our Diana can't count ( not that I'm complaining mind ya ) but she sure knows how to use a camera !! I'm now the proud, awed owner of a Diana Lundin Original !

And the nicest note from her explaining everything.

I had trouble just lifting the box up on the table ! And no wonder-- here's what made it so heavy .

Goldgirl, what a wonderful swap package! It's easy, at least for me, to get in a rut with dinner...your new cookbook will keep things interesting! I look forward to your post on what you try first. As for the candle holder...of course it's cooking related. That holder is stunning! With that as the centerpiece, the entire meal is "classed" up several notches. We're another beet loving family. Who knew so many people liked beets? I always thought we were just weird...well, maybe we are but not 'cause we like beets. And, raspberry jam...well, who doesn't love that. Great package, Diana! GEorge my dear boy...ThankYou. ..yes that's my model #..so we know it was built last month...I have decided Sins right I'm better off replacing the front panel since this machine does appear new, and is working flawlessly...I almost want to whisper that so the laundry demons don't get wind of it. Cathy, I'm sorry your having problems with your dryer, its hard enough when we have to deal with a broken appliance, but than we have to deal with dealers and manufactures that are broken. Everyone here will help you the best they can, as you can see this is a wonderful and helpful group of folks. There's one reason my machine was boxed this way..some idiot at the factory could have been told about his mess ups in damaging the goods, so he had it boxed this way....its also possiable that it hasn't been touched up..its hard to tell for sure, so maybe delivery did it...also I posted a pic of the box...but that could have been the back..maybe both sides of the box are printed the same and maybe the other side of the box is damaged. . I'll have to look closely at the pic and see if it says front or back. I'm just glad this is comming to an end. .lol I thank all of you for your support and advice.. ((HUGS))) To you all.

I have about 12 cultivars including Edulis Superba, Mary E. Nicholls, Mrs. FDR, and Nick Shaylor. About four others are known and labeled cultivars, but I'll have to look at them to jar my memory. The rest are unknown. I can send you photos and descriptions when they bloom.

Flowers, I remove whole canes in the winter to get rid of awkward ones and thin it out some, and shorten laterals on the top of the arbor after each bloom cycle. It's mostly been improvisation --- don't know what the long-term strategy will be. Thanks, Ingrid -- I do have some borrowed landscape there with my neighbor's trees on the top of the hill in the far background, though the chaparral with smaller trees on the hillside right behind Florence was created by me (was previously ENTIRELY covered by screaming magenta-purple ice plant...OMG when it bloomed...). Your garden and landscape are wonderful, and in much better order (and further along it seems -- late year up here this year) than mine right now -- I'm teaching two sections of intro. plant biology for majors with labs this semester and they're killin' me! There are some photos from last year on my photo page on HMF that show garden areas closer to the house.

what a fantastic picture. great job diana. i love it.

the butter almond thins are my all time favorites and i love the waffle cookies too. just the other day i was eyeing the grapefruit vinegar, didn't buy it because i wasn't sure what to do with it and the place was packed and the staff was so busy, i never asked. i'll be anxious to hear what you do with it.

excellent package. enjoy all three categories (not items LOL)

What an incredible photo. I would love to see it for real.

But what happened to 3 things? I feel like my swap partner is going to be so disappointed by my package. I had really wanted to go buy TJ's out but was afraid it wasn't legal. I did go high end instead but... And there's no incrdible work of art in my package either.

I've never seen a photo taken by Diana that isn't amazing, but that one is truly outstanding!

Diana, girl, you are a sweetheart and a premier photographer but I gotta tell you, you are really, really bad at counting. :-)

Amazing photo! Diane you caught the very essence of the moment! Gorgeous!

With so much new stuff to use and taste, it is hard to say what I would do first. Ok, I'd probably look through the cookbook, while glancing at the photo and munching on Truffles, several varieties of cookies, chocolate-chocolate-chocolate and probably sipping a cup of Yogi Tea! ;))

Oh yikes, I see the chocolate didn't make it. I had to leave the package out in my car until my lunch hour when I could mail it and it was warm that day and... sorry.

Yes, my counting was off. I failed to read directions in a timely fashion. But hey, aren't we celebrating Diane's birthday?

Vicki and I went to Yosemite two weeks ago just to take that picture and we got really lucky... it only happens for two weeks a year, only when the conditions are perfect. We caught it.

Hey, I'm watching "The Wedding Bells" (funny show). Delta Burke just ate one of those almond butter cookies!

That photo is beautiful! And what an excellent assortment of goodies (esp. the walnut oil). I'll bet you get lots of interesting recipes from that cookbook too!

So that cookbook... it's an anthology of great American recipes... I have about five or six volumes and love them. I love them so much, in my eagerness to get last year's, I accidentally ordered a second previous year (because they didn't have one last year). I made one recipe from the book I sent Diane when I realized, "Hey, wait a minute, I already have this book." So it doesn't really count. :)

Diana, thanks for the photo link. I have a good friend who grew up in Yosemite, his father was an employee of the Curry Co. He has lots of good stories including pushing over the burning logs from the staged firefalls. He will love this site.
