HAVE: My package is just about there

Just got an email from USPS that my swap package has made it to my partners town and I hope that it will be delivered tomorrow. SO whoever gets a package in the mail from me will be pleasantly surprised and just watch out for the secret fertility fairy dust.....you might want to open the package outside and let the fertility dust spread and see if reaches any of your neighbors.

I belong to the moms club here in my community. There are a lot of young moms, several pregnant, most with young toddlers, some newborns..... anyway, my son is 11 yrs old so I'm one of the "older" moms in the club.

There was some talk yesterday about an old wives tale, something to do with sitting in this special chair and within a years time you will get pregnant and have a boy. So there was some talk going around yesterday and some of the moms were saying they wanted to sit in "the chair". So I said, "Hey, maybe I'll sit in it!" One of the girls wrote back, "I don't think the chair has magical powers."

I was SO insulted! What does she think I am? 90 yrs old?

Gosh!

So anyway if your package is coming to me, wouldn't it be so funny if I got pregnant???? I'd show her, that young whipper snapper witch.

I hope it comes to me! I could terrorize my sons neighbors with your dust Stacie...I've come to San Fransisco to help the boys with putting their house on the market and one neighbor is particularly odd. Maybe they need babies? That'll calm em down. LOL. Not.

Genny, you may want to get some false eggs for her. Not everyone will agree but I feel it encourages birds to stop laying and go broody when there is something left in their nests. You can likely find some plastic Easter eggs this time of year in a dollar store. Weight them with sand so they are about as heavy as a duck egg and glue or tape the halves together. When she goes broody, you take back the plastic eggs and give her the real ones. Don't worry about keeping the numbers the same... birds can't count. My American Buff goose went broody just a couple of days after my sister put one marble goose-sized egg in the nest. It was a bit of a joke, because when I picked it up it was much heavier than a real goose egg and very smooth. I couldn't figure it out until I saw her laughing. LOL. Sisters! But it did the trick.

Salmon from one end of the continent and lobster from the other...this is one good swap. You'll like Bittman's book I bet, Robin. I bought one for the kid's roomate when she graduated high school and, of course, had to preview it for her. The trivet is beautiful, Catherine... nice choices.

Lady Ashe is tip hardy for me in W. PA ZONE 5/6. Got it from Chamblee's in 2013. Four years in the garden thus far and it is 9 ft. across (4.5 ft. each direction), growing on a 4 ft. fence, and still growing. Extremely BS resistant. Its first flush is in clusters of no more than 4 blooms, but subsequent flushes are one to a stem on 2ft. long stems. Its growth habit is therefore somewhat climbing hybrid tea like as the season progresses. The flowers are not large, never over 4", but are packed with petals and extremely high centered when fully open. Looks like a layer cake. They last an eternity on the bush. The fragrance is strong but does not seem to carry by my nose. Like all climbers it did not take off in its first 2 years. Last year and this year it zoomed ahead. It does like its groceries and responds best to regular fertilization.

Oh man, I've got two rambunctious boys and I can't imagine having another one! How would one "neutralize" the dust, if one was so inclined????

Well, ladies, I got the package! And I used gloves to avoid the fertility dust. And Stacie did use a lot of it...ROFLMAO!!!
