WANTED: I'm starting to worry....

I sent my swap package out last Tuesday...hmmm.

A day later I sent out another package going in the same direction and it arrived yesterday.

What the ???

I wouldn't worry yet, could be the weather affecting the delivery.

I should get it today. HEE HEE!!!

Shaun, I think it's going to Diana. I hope she doesn't have any skeletons on her front porch that could be affecting delivery:-)

Deborah, do you have tracking info? They gave me a week for delivery of my swap package as well. At that rate, we might as well WALK to our destinations!!!!

Listen to me, Tisha, just stand by her the best you can---you do know only part of the story---and even if it is in response to outside factors, the pain to HER is still real. We know she did have Lyme's Disease from a tick bite she got in Ct. while delivering a horse----down here in the South----it had barely ever been heard of at that time---the aches and hurting joints all played their part in her suffering, though. Margie, after years of missing Mom so much, (They were celestial twins in the universe. They loved and fought each other more than anyone else on earth..) she began to rely more and more on painkillers---her husband would call and I would go over and try to help, but finally gave up----she was too much out of control and would go into screaming frenzies---we were never very close and that made it easier for me to just stay away from her. Margie's husband called early one morning to say she had died sometime in the early morning hours in a bathtub, with a syringe with partially dissolved painkiller medication in it. We went to St. Mary's Hosp. in Richmond to see her. I walked in the room with my family and and it was the FIRST time I'd seen peace on her face since our Mom died in 1984. Margie died July 27, 1997. I was relieved to see peace, not pain. She had a wisp of a smile on her face----the same sweet smile she had when she was a little girl.... I'm telling you this because you will always be plagued with questions. You will NEVER know the whole truth. It's her journey, Tisha and you can only help so much. Someday, you might not be able to help at all. What you CAN do is try your best to support her, even if it's a 'Thinking of You Card' in the mail--it's something positive for her to connect with....being remembered. Just let her know you still care about her. ---And you can pray for relief and support for her, and guidance and patience for you. One thing that has gotten me through some rough times is the uncanny way 'Lucky Pennies' would always show up when I needed a boost. I would be doing some dirty job, tired and worried----and suddenly, there would be a Lucky Penny, right in front of me, waiting. I always heard the words, 'I Am with you' in my heart, with each penny I picked up out of the dirt and grime. It helped immensely. It never hurts to say a little prayer. I send you warm support, prayers, and a great big hug to help you along, Tisha.

Bluebars, I am just initially putting the mealworms under where she normally perches, this is the only spot I see her perch at, it is near the nestbox though so I know I cannot leave them there. I guess I thought that was the correct way to "train" them was to initially put the mealworms under where you see them perch watching for bugs and then move them where you want them feeding from. This nestbox is about 120 feet or so from the house so not easy to watch like those in the yard. Thanks for the tip about the water, I hadn't thought about that one, we have birdbathes on the deck but I never thought about putting water down there too. Oh and the crickets worked. I put about three disabled crickets in one little dish, 10 waxworms and one cricket in another little dish and then mealworms and a cricket in another dish. She found all three dishes, she ate the crickets first from what I could tell. She ate some then went in the nestbox for awhile but she is constantly poking her head out, flying out and then flying back in. I know she must be looking for her mate. Then she eventually goes back in and stays for awhile. Of course about 20 min later, a Robin found what she didn't eat in the dishes. I can't keep them away from there being so far way either. I have a jailhouse style feeder that my dh made but it is for sitting on the deck not for hanging, any ideas how to make a quick hanging feeder that I could use down there? I sure hope she stays committed to the eggs. Bets site said they more than likely will abandon the nest during incubation when a male goes missing. This is only day 3 of incubation, she has a long way to go by herself! Donna

minet - You are correct. Regular Notaries are only allowed to charge $10 per signature. DH was doing the Loan Doc Signings. Since you lved in OC, you're somewhat familiar with the area. DH covered a wide area - parts of north OC, parts of LA county, all the Inland Empire, Parts of Riverside and San Brdo. Counties. He also made occasional trips to the Victor Valley-(High Desert) and Big Bear. It was a lot of driving! Advertising popped up everywhere "Make Big Money - Become a Notary Public!" What happened to that retired guy you knew is also what happened to DH - they were finding people who would do it cheaper. I don't know how anyone made money doing signings for only $50.00. The only way is if one had a few per day and close together - like, in their own neighborhood! Plus, like I mentioned, more and more companies were requiring the Notary to print out the Loan Docs on their own - which took a lot more time and cost. OH, and another thing this one company did...they would just put the assignments up on computer - leaving it "up for grabs" for anyone. So, DH had to sit at computer all day long everyday and refresh every couple of minutes to see if something "popped up". (If he was out on a signing, he'd miss out on any new assignments) It got to the point it wasn't worth it anymore. ----------------- runninginplace - Yes, we are not married. Been together for over 20 years. I refer to him as "hubby" most times. "Significant Other" or "boyfriend" or "life partner" just sound odd to me. I sometimes refer to him as my housemate also. "Hubby" is just easy. Someone in a previous post mentioned my 1/2 should be protected. Not sure what that means...should I get out the chainsaw and cut the house in half? haha j/k! ------------ "DH" saw the attorney. (hubby also was able to get most of the file on this specific trx from the lender) Attorney told him to just keep all the info for now, but to NOT respond to the letters...and just wait to see if anything happens. DH hasn't heard anything since. I don't know what the statute of limitations would be on something like this. (Maybe the other guy's attorney told him he didn't have a case? I donno) -------------- And, yes, I was too busy to read the letter when he first presented it to me. DH had already told me most of the highlights in the letter. By the time I was mentally prepared & calm enough to read the letter, it was gone. He had taken it to attorney. Everyone has their own ways of dealing with things. I guess my way is different.

Ya know, for some dumb reason mosaics scared me a bit, too. I jumped right into leaded stained glass (took a class), then taught myself foiled stained glass, then looked at the scrap pile from those two and said "Self - you are a tightwad and you CANNOT throw those glass scraps away - find something pretty to do with them". So, I started reading on the internet ... and reading library books... and reading message boards ... and still hadn't done anything. Finally one day I just said "screw it" and jumped right in. Frankly, my creations still look like I said "screw it" ~ lol ~ but it's the most fun I've had in a while! Just jump in an have fun hon and if your stuff falls apart, salvage what you can and start all over again with your new lessons firmly stuck in your brain. You'll get nothing but support and cyber hugs from the crew on these boards. It's the nicest learning place I've found on the internet in a l-o-n-g time.

I sent my DH to the post office with it. Asking him to make sure we could track it.
He went to the machine...not a postal worker (eye rolling) as I had asked. Insured it at least.
I can't track it that way can I?

I would think you could track it if he sent it using the US Post office Express Mail. Maybe someone else knows for sure. Did he bring home some sort of receipt?

I just can't figure out why they are all taking so long for delivery, across the board. Something to consider, but surely the cost of fuel for the trucks is affecting those of us that used UPS or Fed-Ex ground service. Sheesh!

Well the USPS doesn't offer tracking, only Delivery Confirmation..so if it went into the postal service....it's in the postal service.

Well, I gotta tell ya. if it is coming to ME, well, our post office is the worst in the nation, I swear. Everything to me takes twice as long. Don't worry. I am patient. ROFLMAO.

i've learned that mailing from the machine/kioski/print at home postage always takes a day or two longer, so i wouldn't worry too much just yet. sometimes you just make the right truck/plane, other time being off by just a few minutes makes all the difference.

If it were coming to me, I would have received it already. I did receive my second Woody Allen movie today - Sleeper, and I have one more to go.

If you sent parcel post, it could really take a while, but if you insured it, the post office will be sure to deliver, since they don't want to pay the insurance claim.
