I've got to see those purple items! I agree, Sherry, who knew you could get a purple frying pan?!! The bean soups sound delicious! Corn; my kids; exactly the same! You're not alone! The Godiva mixes are great. Can't wait to see that cup, either!

That mug just made me chuckle and I've never seen a purple pan either. You can never go wrong with Godiva chocolate and those scrapers are so handy. Karen did a great job.

Erin, I'm glad you enjoyed the swap . . . it is always so hard to imagine what someone you don't know will like. But you said you like purple . . . (by the way, for purple lovers, there is a web site that I almost used called The Purple Store. Then I found something fun in purple locally.

I included a card that gave the theme of the swap, "It's Personal" because I imagined that with two boys and a DH that you hardly get any "me time." The purple pan (found at Marshalls with all kinds of other colors of pans) is just the size for you to cook a little something for yourself. You could have a cup of tea and a Lindt truffle.

I hope you received the card because it is a reproduction of a piece of calligraphy that I painted that I thought you would enjoy. That is where my username comes from: Karigraphy = Karen + calligraphy.

The boys got footballs with candy whistles inside because . . . ahem, I am from the city where the Steelers play! Sorry to any other teams out there.

The can of corn: I could have sworn that you wrote in a post that your mother dumped a can of corn on your head when you complained about her dinner when you were a child. I thought it would be funny to threaten your kids with the same fate (in good humor).

I got confused with the name BlueIris because there is someone on the kitchen renovation forum with that name, too, and I couldn't tell if you were the same person or not. If not, I may have gotten some details mixed up!

Karen -- I am so glad you mentioned the card. When I opened the package I looked for a card but didn't see one. After I saw your posting I went back through the box and wrapping, which I thankfully still had, and there was your card! I'm so sorry I overlooked it -- it is great - I am slowly trying to get myself back into creative mode which I left about 20 years ago! . . . and I'm so amazed by people who are creating on a regular basis, much less with kids in the house.

Thank you so much for the kind thoughts regarding my Mom. I know this isn't really the right place to post it, but since I started in my previous post -- today she rounded a huge corner and was so much more herself. She's been in the hospital for a week and today was the first day we had positive news, so I'm just thrilled. I have family nearby, so I'm waiting to travel until I find out when I can be the most help. I'm so grateful I went to visit her last month, prior to any of this becoming an issue, and we had a lot of fun together. I can't help but think that all your positive thoughts and prayers have made a difference -- thank you, you are all so kind.

I just got home from a family vacation to Disney World so I've been out of touch. Hope your mother is doing better now. My father was in and out of the hospital for two stents in his coronary arteries around the same time.

Glad you found the card - AND glad you got the corn on the head connection. I liked the pull top on the can of corn because the threat (in gest, I hope!) can be eminent.
