WANTED: Diana55 sent my favorite things!

I topped off a long day yesterday with Diana's wonderful package.

First of all, a box of six gorgeous plates...dark chocolate brown with milk chocolate swirls and light blue flowers. I love blue and brown together. And I really love the box. Chickadees are my favorite birds. We haave a bunch of them at our feeders(sometimes one will perch on my hand for a bread crumb snack).

Next, Williams-Sonoma Savoring Desserts. Food porn at its best. Liana (who also wants the plates) said, "Ooooo, Mom...can we make them all?" I'll be curling up with it and the Canadian Living packing material this weekend. I can see something chocolate on those plates...maybe sitting on a drizzle of white chocolate....mmmmmmmm.....

And a springform pan. True story:

This weekend I was cleaning my pantry and I realized I had two brand new 9" springforms...Not sure what happened, but one of those pans was supposed to be a 10". I decided I could use the extra pan as my contribution to a Mother's Day cedar chest raffle that our Lioness club has going and I could find a 10" next time I got to a decent kitchen department. Taa-daaaaahhhh! That was Sunday and by Monday night...there it was, my new 10" springform.

Thank you, Diana...I will really enjoy everything.

That's a wonderful swap package. The plates are nice and that book looks very tempting.

Ooooh, so pretty! Even the box is lovely! It's funny how Diana can be psychic about the swaps, too. I love the glass bottom springform pans & keep meaning to get one because they make so much sense. And I just know that I'd have to hide that dessert book from myself.

We just hid our microwave in a tall cabinet. You can't see it & yet it's easily accessible. Just make a hole in the back for the cord. And it's not built in so if it breaks we can just replace it. LOVE IT TOO!

Have not posted here in a long time, but wanted to say I make cement crosses that I then embellish with stained glass and I put a piece of 1/2" PVC in the center when I pour my mold. I print a small instruction sheet to give to the recipient. I tell them to FIRST put the rebar, that I supply for them, in the ground and then slip the cross on the rebar. It's amazing how many people look at me when I hand them a piece of rebar, They don't know what to do with it!!!!! And I figure will surely forget what I told them by the time they get it home. Each cross has a different lenghth of PVC, depending on the figurine I have used in the center, so I put the rebar in the cross and mark the depth with a piece of tape. I then spray paint the area that is to be left above ground for the cross to fit over and instruct them to put unpainted end in the ground. Copy of my instructions: When ready to display your cement yard cross, first push unpainted end of rod into the ground till it reaches the painted area. Leave the painted end above ground level. Now simply place your cross on the rod thru the opening in the bottom. Do Not place the rod in the cross and then push into the ground. Hope you enjoy your cross!

Great package! I know what you mean katie - I have one springform size and always seem to have a recipe for a different size...I should get an assortment, too.

The plates are gorgeous - can't wait to see some goodies on them!

What a nice completion to a long day for you, Katiec! The plates are very pretty, and the cookbook, well I could eat the cookbook itself, much less anything made from it. What fun it will be to pick out a desert to make using your new pan. Way to go, Diana!

Katie, you're right, something chocolate will look especially good on those plates. I love the brown and blue combo.

That is a very nice swap package. The plates and cookbook are great, but I love that springform pan. I never had a glass bottom one. That sounds so cool. Enjoy your package katie. Nice job, Diana.

The plates are gorgeous! I have never seen a glass bottom spring form pan; that's a great way to serve any cake....
The cookbook of desserts will be fun to sit and drool over.

I am drooling over those plates, Diana! They'll make ANYTHING you put on them look really nice, Katie. I happen to enjoy all of the Williams Sonoma cookbooks I've ever gotten, so there's no doubt in my mind you will love this one. I'm also intrigued by the glass bottom springform pan, I confess I didn't know they even existed:-)

Great, well thought out package, Diana. Katie, the kid did a great job on the pics. I hope you enjoy all of your goodies!

I bet there are some awsome desserts in the Williams Sonoma cookbook, you'll have to let us know which one you choose to make as you're first Katie.

I think Diana made the box herself - it's definitely gorgeous and is a present by itself!

Nice to receive someone's favorite dessert cookbook, and I love the pattern on the plates. I'm another one who is without a glass bottom spring-form pan! Great choices and beautiful packaging!

Katie, what a wonderful swap package. The plates are gorgeous! I like the idea of a glass liner in the springform, haven't seen any here, yet. I wouldn't mind having the cookbook...desserts are my favorites. Very nice choices, Diana.

So glad you like everything !!! I really didn't know what to buy you, but I figured you can't go wrong with Desserts. I have a Glass bottom Springfoarm pan, and they are great, because you can cut right on them. No I didn't make the box....I bought it. I'm just not that talented!!!LOL So glad it got to your house safetly too. Enjoy !!! Diana55

Diana you are very talented when it comes to picking nice things for your swap partner. I like every single thing. This was a boneless swap since you forgot the card but very nice nontheless.

I think that this is a lovely swap box. Not only are the plates beautiful but the box that they came in is a work of art too. And the springform pan was perfect timing since Katie was planning on buying a new one. Well done Diana.

Another echoing 'wow' for the glass bottom springform pans! Katie I have to see at least ONE dessert with a red sauce (raspberry? huckleberry?) on those gorgeious plates! Nice job, Diana!
