Package shipped today! Was I too early?

I shipped my package today because if I kept the contents any longer, I was afraid I might keep it for myself. That's a problem when buying something that is your favorite. This is the first minimalist swap I've participated in, and so I'll have to see how it goes. I hope my partner won't be disappointed:

A. Because it is only one item (although it is a pair);

B. Because now the suspense will be over;

C: Because the item is inappropriate.

I hope that the research I did will prevent "C" from being a problem. I do feel good about what I sent, however.

Has anyone else shipped? Or am I alone here?

Good advice above. Here's another choice. I'm in Zone 6 and have often planted bareroot roses in the 3rd and 4th weeks of March. Admittedly those winters weren't as cold and crazy as this winter has been, but I notice already that parts of the garden are quite diggable, and I transplanted a rose last week to a new spot in the garden--worked out fine! So my advice would be to soak the roses in water, keep them in a cooller place (unheated garage is good) with little or no sunshine, change the water each week, and when you encounter a diggable day in the garden in the next week or two, go ahead and plant them. Parsley and chives are very easy to grow. You don't have to start them inside, just direct sow them in the garden when temp are in 30s. They will know when to grow. Of course if someone wants then to grow early, then she/he can start them inside. I started my parsleys outside in cold frame and transplanted them in the garden when they had couple of true leaves. Now they can be used (outer leaves). With the chives I just dired sowed then in the garden and they are about ready to get their first cut, in oder to grow flat leaves.(flat chives). I have also direct sowed diils and chervils. They are growing too.I have also direct sowed basils. They germinated and are growing but very slowly. With thyme, sage, oregano, matrjorem, I just bought and planted established ones from nursery. I figure, I only need one plant of each. Why bother growing from seeds. Of course, when it gets warmer I cann throw few seeds in the ground and let them grow.

Good eye, Wayne! With the mild temps we've had, my son and I went to the nearby creek yesterday. No snakes seen but plenty of Southern Two-lined Salamanders. My photos were blurry so I don't have any to post. It's even warmer here today so I bet there's a snake sunning somewhere. Thanks.

Hooray, I found the note that was supposed to go in the box on the kitchen table yesterday, so as usual, I wrote a note and didn't enclose it. I just can't manage to get both pieces put together. Oh Lars, there is no doubt in my mind that your partner will love whatever you send to him/her. And I like the fact that you choose just one item to send. It is so nice to have something special to remember your partner by.

You're not mailing too early. It is always exciting when the first swap boxes start to arrive.

Thanks to Lars I have a good idea of what I'm going to send. If I can find exactly the one I want, my partner is only going to get one item too. Hopefully though it will be one that she will really really like.

Lars, I bet whatever you sent will be wonderful for whomever receives it.

I'm starting my shopping tomorrow. I'm keeping my fingers crossed I can find what I'm looking for. That might be tricky, since I only have foggy notion of what I'm looking for, but I know I'll know it when I see it. I think. :-)

Yippee - I bought not one, but TWO of my swap buddy's gifts today!! I'm almost done, have one more thing to buy, but can't seem to find exactly what I'm picturing in my mind.

Am I the second to mail? I don't care whether I'm second or fifth....it's just so good to be ahead of the deadline.

My partner will be getting 3 items and one of those is a kit/set - yes, yes it is too a set!!

Mailed mine today. It should arrive in 2-3 weeks. It is somewhat delicate, but even if something breaks, it will not be that big an accident...
