I didn;t get pics... darn! I was up too, and was surprised to hear my older sons alarm go off at 2:15 AM. They all came out to see the beginning (about 25% at hat time) and went back to bed until 3-ish. We all got up and watched until about 3:30 then,..... it was AMAZING!

I really do wish I had remembered to grab the camera......

Absolutely stunning!! I was out from 1:30 to 2:45 with the camera. Got some neat pictures, but nothing like the show I was watching! My backyard was a inky oasis that allowed the stars and moon to just absolutely make my heart sing!!

I saw it around 2 a.m. I wish I could have made myself stay awake for the whole thing, but I was sleepy and freezing. Thanks for sharing the pictures!

DH and I got up at 2 to look, but went back to bed soon, as I get up at 5. Really cool. My parents used to get us kids up in the middle of the night to go see comets, or eclipses, or whatever other astronomical phenomenon was going on. We griped, then oohhed and ahhed!

Clouds here......didn't go to bed until midnight....and tehre was no moon to be seen.....

I saw the full moon go behind some clouds before I went to bed, and never saw it again after that. (So I guess I can blame it on the weather, even though my eyes were shut.) You certainly had a much better view than I would have.

Gorgeous clear skies and a bright mood when I went to bed around 11:30 ET. NASA site said best time to view if only getting up once was 3:17 ET. So I set the alarm, went outside to total overcast skies, and spent the next couple hours watching TV and trying to fall asleep. :-(

It was the hugest moon I've ever seen!

I was surprised to see it so brilliantly orange!

We always miss these events due to rain and/or clouds (or exams the next morning!)...so this was a real treat for us!

I woke up to the sound of crashing glass at 3:17am! Turns out DH was watching the eclipse and coming back to bed he knocked the crystal lamp off the night stand. He was excited about the eclipse and I asked him if he had any remorse about the broken lamp. He responded that we should look at the positive side which was that the last time this happened (eclipse coincided with the winter solstice was 372 years ago) and he would have knocked over an oil lamp or candles and it would have started a fire.

Snort! Gotta' love Raymond, and imagining those dimples while he's saying it. Cathy, I think this gives you complete permission to buy a new lamp.
