| Just in case you find yourself up at 4:00 AM eastern (check your local time zones) you can probably step outside and see the Leonid Meteor showers. They aren't supposed to be as intense this year, but hey - if you are already up then why not!

Typical!! It's raining and will for 2 more days....and the meteors will be above the clouds! Linda C |

What a shame that we're also having rain, and floods, wind, thunder and the biggest rainfall in many years here in the north of Tenerife, and it's supposed to continue until 6 pm tomorrow evening. I love watching meteorite showers but we're not going see anything but heavy clouds. Thanks for the tip though, Alexa. SharonCb

For once the weather is cooperating!! If I am tossing and turning at 4 a.m., I will stick my nose out the door and look up.

Thanks, Alexa, I have my alarm clock set already! However, will I get up when it goes off? Who knows, but my intentions are good, LOL. Annie

Aw, that's too bad, Sharon! You guys were supposed to have gotten a show this year due to the timing. :( DH saw a couple of early arrivals last night. I may go out and try my luck, but it's supposed to be around 18 degrees. I might just need a big batch of hot cocoa with which to fortify myself.

Well rats! Since I am up anyway, I thought I would go out to do a "sky check" and get my lawn chair, blanket, etc together for a little watching in an hour or so... and it is overcast! The weather dorks were wrong again when they said it would be a clear night with great viewing. GRRRRRRRRRRR! Alexa - who really is disappointed by this turn of events :-(

Alexa, I got up to let Cooper out at 4:12 am and it was overcast here too, not a darned thing in site. I agree, weather dorks! They say it's "mostly sunny" right now, but it's cloudy and overcast, they don't even get it right when it's happening, sheesh. Annie

Well, it was clear here last night, and I got up to see what I could see. I saw some lovely constellations and a couple of low flying owls, but no meteors.

DH got up to see it at 1:00AM - not overcast, but too much light pollution here in LA. :-(
