I have some GREAT news!

I have been sworn to secrecy for over two weeks and it was killing me! LOL

My daughter Erin is expecting her first baby! I found out a few days before I went to visit her in Chicago a couple of weeks ago. While we were there they had their first OB Ultrasound, so I got to see the pictures of the little peanut!

Peppi knows because we met her for lunch and Erin told her, but I have had to keep my mouth shut until she told her dad and Nasri's side of the family.

Well yesterday she gave me the go ahead to spread the wonderful news! She is due June 9. Looks like I'll be making another road trip to the Windy City in June!

What wonderful, wonderful news! How exciting. June 9 -- what a nice time for a birthday.

I think they should name the baby "Doucanoe."

To get cross pollination you have to plant a different variety, not another plant of the same variety. Often it has to be a particular different variety--thus the pollination charts in Raintree catalog. 'Sugar' is described in CORNUCOPIA II by Stephen Facciola (Kampong Publications): "Small, oval fruit; skin dark reddish-purple, covered with thick bloom, very tender; flesh golden-yellow, juicy, tender, sweet, mild; quality very good; stone free; ripens early. Excellent fresh; good for drying and canning. Tree moderately vigorous, spreading; hardy; self-fertile, productive. Originated in Santa Rosa, California by Luther Burbank. Introduced in 1899." "Self-fertile" and "productive" are indications that you won't have to plant another variety to get adequate cropping--at least as far as pollination requirements are concerned.

Exciting news indigo! I can only speak from my own experience and say that I have had Chickadees nest in a BB box here, and the Blues did not try to swipe the box. Then again, I had 2 other options in the yard for the Blues. Do you have another BB box up? I'd put one up if you don't. I haven't heard of using a Sparrow Spooker on a box of Dees. Hope that someone here knows. I don't put one on mine. It's cool that you will be able to monitor the Chickadee nest. Their little eggs are the size of Jelly Belly jelly beans. Sometimes, the moms will sit tight on the nest when you open the box, even after you thump on the box before opening it. :o)

The easiest way to make one is to just knit a scarf that's long enough to go over your head and around your neck, then fold it in half and sew a short seam to make the hood for your head. Annie

Very exciting news. Congratulations to you and your family.

We are having a great grandson about that same time. I got to show my dad pictures of his first great great yesterday. He had me print the picture so he could put it on his refrigerator to remind him why he needs to stick around a little longer.. LoLÃ¢ÂÂ¦ I didnÃ¢ÂÂt think he was going anywhere anytime soon!

Okay, I love all the food pictures on the CF but there's nothing better than baby pictures and I look forward to seeing your baby pictures--well not pictures of you as a baby. LOL Congratulations!!!

Congratulations, Linda! Does your daughter want to know the sex or will it be a surprise? Have you started buying baby stuff yet? :)

We had 2 new grandbabies last fall, one in October & another in November. That makes 6 total & I doubt they are the last. :)

Have fun & I will keep her in my prayers for a healthy happy pregnancy & birth.

Thanks for all the well-wishes! She has not had any morning sickness and has been feeling pretty good, maybe just a bit more tired than normal.

They have not decided if they will find out the gender ahead of time or not. I think they could if they wanted to in just a couple more weeks. Guess we'll wait and see.
