That's scary! Positive thoughts are on the way to the VA for Jerry.

My mom was in the hospital this time of year and her concern was how she was a distraction for the family's holiday celebration. I hope Jerry knows that he takes priority over a turkey.

Thanks, everyone. Rick ( I forgot to tell y'all his name, earlier) is out of surgery and the word is it went well. We don't know any more than that. Thanks for your positive words, prayers and thoughts.

Jerry is sick with a cold, so he can't go up there and be with him, for fear of causing more problems for him. We don't want him to get sick on top of everything else. Luckily, most of Jerry's family is in the same city, so they're there with Rick. I'm glad for that.

It sounds like your family might have something to be very thankful for this year, I certainly hope that all the news is good from now on.

Thanks, Annie. Yes, we do have something to be thankful for. The latest news is that Rick is alert, and the doctor said he has more strength than expected. There's no news yet on what the tumor/lesion is.

I'll be away from my computer for a few days starting tomorrow. I'll fill y'all in if there's more news if I can. Otherwise, I'll post again Monday night or Tuesday morning.

I'm back, and I'm back with good news. Rick is sitting up and eating. He's to be moved from sicu to the physical therapy floor today, or as soon as a room is available. Then, when he can walk, they'll let him go home.

Sally, I'm glad he's out of icu and the operation is over. Hope the tests come back with good news. Thinking of him and ya'll.

Good news! Rick is going home from the hospital today. I got to speak with him last night, and he sounded great. He said he feels better than he has in a long time, his pain is greatly diminished, and he rarely has to take pain meds. He's been in pain for a while, but the doctor (not the one that discovered the tumor) said it was arthritis and put him on high dose Ibuprophen. He doesn't have to take that now. Yeah!

That's terrific news! I'm glad he's homeward bound, although I'd be finished with the Internist who told him it was only arthritis and to take some ibuprofen! Any word from the pathologists?

As far as I know, they think the tumor was benign. I'm not sure why it's taking so long to get results back. If and when there is any more news about it, I'll let y'all know.
