Oh, Karen, I'm so, so happy that Penny found you. She's beautiful and I think you're right, she was meant for you.

You know, the breeder I got WonderWeiner from told me that it was nearly impossible to teach a dachshund to fetch, it just wasn't in their nature. WW would always fetch, though. About twice. After that he would just give me that look that said "you threw it, YOU go get it". (grin) So she must really love you, to keep going to get it.

Give her a pat and a scratch from me. And here's a hug for you too.

Awww! She looks like Odo with the smooth shiny coat. All it needs is a baby wipe! She will bring so many smiles to your day RR.

Gina, I love those natural dog wipes! She needs that about every other day because she dosen't smell so good when we have been fetching outside. LOL! I didn't tell you guys about some of her little weird things...she does not like geting her paws wet in the morning dew on the grass. Quick draw MacGraw and she is at the door wanting to come in.

She didn't bark the first week I had her...now she barks at every boat that comes by on the river and the yard guy got a scare this morning. I love that she is barking...let's me know something is going on! But...when we have visitors she jumps in their car when they leave? I bring her lots of places and she loves car rides but come on! She gets a little verklumped when I pick her up and wave goodby to our visitors. She actually hangs her head and her ears almost hit the floor!

Did I say that she sleeps with us. I said I would never have another dog in the bed. She really is little and takes up no space at our feet so I fiqure it's OK. Besides DH loves her sleeping under the covers next to his thigh! Sigh! We are in love...

Karen, she is perfect! Isn't it fun to have a new shadow? I am so happy that she has a forever home with "furents" that love her.

As for the car jumping, she just wants to keep on visiting with freinds, thats all and is sad when they leave. Dilly does the same thing with his aunties and uncles. And girls just want to have fun, but not wet feet! Ich! Wait til it rains and she needs to potty.

And of course we have all said that THIS dog will not be on the furniture, on the bed or get some nommies from the table. Nope, we are not goign to do that! None of would do that....... Yeah, right.

Give her a kiss and a snuggle from me. She is so cute.

RR, there is absolutely nothing better than a nice, warm WeinerDog under the covers on a cool night. They like to burrow, so WW would get under the covers, all the way to the end and I could just put my cold feet on him and stay snuggly, LOL.

Of COURSE she has to sleep with you, she's afraid of the dark, you wouldn't leave the poor thing to sleep alone....

Cooper spent his life sleeping in his kennel before he came to live with me. He wasn't quite sure about the bed, then he finally learned to sleep on the end. Eventually he moved up to the middle, now he sleeps with his head on the pillow!

I love it...the paring of a precious little angel and a loving and caring family! She doesn't have a clue yet that her life as the River Princess has just begun. Those boaters will learn real soon who rules the river.

Odo doesn't like the wet grass either. More than his paws get wet, especially when the grass is long!

We experimented with him in the bed, but it didn't work out. He would burrow under, then get hot and come out, then go back, repeat ad nauseum! And he would hog the bed. Push one of us with his front paws and the other with his back. Now he gets to be on the bed only if we are watching TV in there. Then he knows lights out means he is going to his own bed.

The baby wipes at Target are really cheap. I keep them everywhere - work, car, etc.

Odo jumps in other peoples' cars too - he doesn't want to get left out! And when someone leaves the house he whimpers.
(Not everybody though, LOL.)

I haven't had a chance to say Congratulations! I'm so happy you both found each other. Penny looks like she has a great spirit and it sounds like she's really starting to feel ''at home'' with you. What a cutie!

Coal and Sugarfoot are sending Penny hugs and kisses for joining you. Coal and Sugarfoot are both dachshunds, Coal is a mini long haired whose parents were a short haired crossed with a long haired dachshund. He has long hair on his feet, elbows, rear end and ears. The hair on the body is a short hair type . Sugarfoot is a full long haired piebald. Body color is white with 5 big black polka dots and a black and tan mask with a white line that goes up between her eyes to the back of the head. As she got older her ticking spots developed.She has black streaks in her fur. They joined our house hold last year around this time.
