Familiar faces make me smile.

I wish it wasn't so, but I haven't made it to this forum in almost 4 years. Last time I posted I was announcing my pregnancy. Turns out it was a girl, her name is Delia Hazel and she will be 3 in January. So many things have changed in the time that has passed. I was officially divorced this past spring. It was a necessary choice and I find myself becoming the happy person I was so very long ago. During that transition I lived with my parents and didn't have a kitchen of my own. My little girl and I now have a place of our own and I find myself excited and happy to be in a kitchen again. I came here tonight hoping to see some familiar names from long ago. I will stay for awhile tonight and visit with a smile on my face. You can be sure I will return sooner than I did this past time.It is so nice to "see" you all again.

Welcome back and hope we can make your smile! Sounds like you have had it pretty rough but I'll bet that little girl gives you reason to smile often.

We have had numerous little kid cooking projects since you have be on hiatus so maybe we can get Delia in the kitchen.

Welcome back. Sure sounds like a lot has been going on in your life. Delia must be such a light in your life! I love her name. New beginnings -- it's the best.

There are lots of reasons to smile in this world and most of us take great pleasure in the things that happen in our little corners of the world. I know I do. The things that not only make me smile but really get to the very soul of my being, is when good things happen to people I know and love. Maryanne, your news has made my day. Nina, while you were noticing the pie plate, I was noticing the pie crust leaves in a spray on top of the pie, and thinking I could steal that design for Thanksgiving! A pie kit, now that's a useful item, and I have a couple of those dumpling/tart presses that I use to make little individual sandwiches from bread dough and whatever filling suits me, kind of a homemade hot pocket sandwich. My girls love them and I'm sure AM's kids will too. Cookbooks are always good, of course, that's a given and I like the marked favorite recipes. Oh my goodness gracious! This is a good cheesecake! My family has renamed it Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake because the folded-in whipped cream really lightened it up. I simplified the baking by: wrap the outside of the pan in aluminum foil. In a water bath, bake at 325F until sides are set, but it is still slightly "jiggly" in the center, 55 to 60 minutes. Remove from oven to cool on wire rack. Immediately, run a knife around the edge to loosen the cake from the sides (this will prevent the cake from cracking as it cools). Cool on rack for 30 minutes. Loosely cover with aluminum foil and refrigerate for 8 hours (overnight is best), plate and serve. I have added this to my list of cheesecakes to die for! Thank you Ginger for the post.

They have to be doing something as I keep seeing her watching something above her head and you sorta see something move and then she roars with laughter and then they feed the dog popcorn. Whatever its quite the laugh on that baby. Joy to hear babies laugh like that.

Welcome back and a big welcome to Delia too, cooking with kids is the most fun.

I'm looking forward to seeing you here again, and hearing about Delia and the "projects".

I love the name Della, love that the old names are becoming popular again.

Sounds like a rough few years but you sound as if you made it through ....hope you stick around.

Wow, time flies! Welcome back...looking forward to hearing about your cooking adventures with a toddler. Pretty name, I am partial to Hazel...was my MIL's name.

Sorry to hear you have had a rough couple of years, but I am sure little Delia is the light of your life! So happy that you have returned.

Nice to see you here again Indicanoe. Lots of changes since you posted last. Glad that everything is coming together for you and Delia (Love her name). Look forward to more of your posts. And hopefully a picture of little Delia.

Welcome back. I have been gone a long time too and just occasionally come back to check it out. Life is busy for me raising two grandchildren now. Have fun in the kitchen with your little one.
