Pam, It's true that some of yours, mine, and all of our bulbs may not exhibit symptoms especially if they are kept in optimum cercomstances,i.e., cool roots with good drainage, the proper amount of dappled sun for most of the day, or full sun at the right times of the day so as not to burn or stress the bulb and of course the proper amount of nutrients and moisture. But, most all bulbs at some time or another find themselves under stress. I have about 15 virused bulbs from a co-op from 2 years ago that when the leaves first emerged they were clear and green. A month or so on my too hot deck in full sun brought the virus symptoms on the leaves. They have been segregated and and this year when the new leaves emerged once again they are clear and green with no signs of virus. Looking at them currently, no one would believe they are affected. Now, I have planted these bulbs in 2 whiskey barrels at the far end of my yard and I wouldn't be at all surprised if this year with their roots cool and able to stretch all the way out into the moist fertilized soil that they never exhibit any signs of virus.. I also have a virused Estrella that I've had for 4 or more years now that every year sends up a clean first flush of leaves and blooms with 2 stalks with 4 to 6 flowers each time. Later in the summer it puts up a second flush of leaves and these show signs of virus. But once again, it blooms with 2 stalks with the appropriate number of flowers. This only goes to show that certain bulbs can live with this disease and aside from streaks in the leaves goes on it's merry way...my guess is that a NBF larvae will kill this bulb before the virus ever does. If one has a small collection.. 10 to 15 bulbs it may be possible to keep the virus at bay but if one, like most of the rest of us on this forum, keep adding to our collection from here and there and everywhere (which most of us do) we will all end up with virused bulbs and yes, you may never know it until it's way too late. It doesn't bode good for the future and we may have to just learn to live with it. They say that papilio is virus free, someone on this forum had some tested that were planted in the ground among other virused bulbs and the tests came back clean for their papilios..Most of the experts also state that papilio does not contract virus..but could it be a carrier? As I've stated many times on this forum I've lost probably up to 25 healthy bulbs to the Narcissis Bulb Fly over the past 2+ years..and last year I though I had it all figured out that by using a granular systemic containing imidacloprid I'd fix em..I lost as many last year as the year before....maybe more! "Breathe. Ex is showing her immaturity. Let her. She's probably not even aware of exactly what she is doing." ditto. I had outpatient surgery last week (laparscopy) and BM found out about it. She called DH that day to say she neeeded to take her DD to the dr. and might need DH to pick SS up from soccer, and then she'd meet them somewhere to get SS---it was her weekend. DH told her he couldn't and she must have pushed the issue b/c he finally said "love is having surgery this afternoon." I was released from the surg. center about 4 pm and I kid you not---from then until about 8 pm, BM called about EIGHT TIMES. It was INSANE. First she called when we were leaving the surg. center---she wanted DH to give her directions to the Shop N Save close to our house, since she had just left soccer practice w/SS. Then ten mins later she called again--she was "lost." Then she called about ten mins after THAT. SS had gotten his pants wet at soccer practice and BM wanted to know if they could come by our house to get pants for him?? DH said no, we weren't even home. Then she called back a few mins later AGAIN wanting to know why SS had only one shin guard on???? At this point, DH got exasperated and turned his ringer off. She NEVER calls this excessantly. Both DH and I know it had some wacky thing to do with me--she cannot stand the thought of DH being with me, or taking care of me---who knows---we cannot quite put our finger on it, but it's some weird jealousy thing. Anyway, DH went by the movie store w/me and then ran into Walgreens to get me some soda--by the time we got home, and settled, she had called several more times, but never left a message. WACKY!!!!! DH just kept his ringer off the rest of the night, and then called SS at bedtime. Sorry to hijack! :)

Interesting ideas so far. I sure understand the conflict over a combined or individual spaces. How about posting your current floor plan? Most suggestions given here end up rejected, of course, but the various eews and weeells, and hmmms they elicit usually seem to end up solidifying preferences. Of the layouts you've been considering, I rather like the third one with the counter running along the window. In addition to more storage, of course, it'd be an interesting way to design that area visually, an alternative to the usual chair backs against wall, and would be fun to decorate. I also like that it pushes the table and chairs forward, helping avoid the usual problem of getting in and out of the corner beyond the counter.

Of course, a hurricane would sure make a great "wedding story" for the rest of family history. Not even a hurricane could keep you apart. (grin)

Two years ago Monday, DH and I were married under the threat of Hurricane Hannah. We were able to have our ceremony outside at 1:30pm, as well as our reception. It wasn't until we were well into our 3rd hour of dancing and a few Long Island Ice Teas that the rain really began to fall. Everyone had to scramble to put up the sides on our rental tent to protect the DJs and their equipment. There was literally a stream flowing through our tent at the end of the night. We still see the DJs at family weddings (they were fantastic) and they jokingly call me the Hurricane Bride. Our 40x28 rental tent held through the reception and for most of the night. It didn't matter what happened at that point DH and I were married and that was the only thing that mattered. So yeah, hurricanes at your wedding, bring it on!! From one Lori to another Congratulations on your special day!!

This Saturday?? It's here already? You better be posting some pictures, girl -- BEFORE the honeymoon, because we can't wait.

Thank you, everybody! I am so excited for tomorrow. I can't promise pictures too soon, though. Seth has requested no email/phone/laptop until at least noon Monday.

Okay, so can I email somebody pictures to post for me? I just use FB as my picture hosting site now. No more photobucket.

We had a great time in Boston for the long Labor Day weekend. It was too short notice to find somebody to watch 6 kids while they're in 5 different schools, so we'll take a real honeymoon in the Spring (thinking Costa Rica!)

Still living separately for another month or so until the house is done (it ain't easy! lol)
